The clutch from SPEC would be ~$1450 I wanna say.

Got the adapter ring and flywheel/clutch set up installed.

Waiting on a throw out bearing from FCP so I can install the transmission. The TOB that came with the clutch appears to be an aftermarket no-name throw out bearing that I will be throwing away.

TOB/fork get here Thursday, hopefully everything will be installed by the weekend and then we can get to work on figuring out the driveshaft

Boostlogic. I liked that manifold more than the Steedspeed 1 and 2 that I have run since.

FYI guys that clutch is like 1850$ it’s a custom flywheel that is machined out of about twice the thickness of billet.

It's been great. Its pretty much the only thing I have never wanted to or needed to upgrade on this car since I went turbo years ago.

Did you find a great scavenge pump? Which one?

I have been running the small turbowerx exa pump. Its been fine for almost two years now. Silent and pulls enough oil to do the job.

I’ve been using the RB Racing scavenge pump for years now without an issue.

You don’t need one with TS Steedspeed. But obviously it won’t hurt.

    Guess I should update.
I havent touched the car in almost four months. Just lack of motivation.
But finally got the itch again. Got everything buttoned up with the gs6 trans, and dropped the driveshaft off at a local shop today to be shortened. If all goes well, I will be able to get the car back on the road within a week!

On another note, I am going to pick up a mint 2008 C6 Z06 on Monday. Bone stock with 30k miles. Pretty excited!

Looking at the adapter plate, its looks as though all the large bolts are offset by approx the same amount. Im surprised that at least 4 bolts dont line up. That's all i have securing my 6spd diesel box to the m50

The diesel box has a different bolt pattern and bolts right up but has something odd gears that better suit a low revving high torque diesel.

if you make the top holes of the transmission lightly oval, then it will bolt on with the 4 main bolts. Actually 5 will line up

Do they only offer the Spec twin disc with this set-up? How about the motiv twin disc?

I’ll thread jack raji for one post. I did this conversion last fall. The LTW single mass flywheel transmits a lot of noise. Not just at idle but intermittently into the 3000 rpm range and also upon deceleration. Push the clutch in and the idle noise goes away. I thought maybe the TOB could be an issue so I changed it. Made no difference. The TOB Spec supplied was the same brand I bought as a replacement from FCP. I think it is INA but would have to look again.

Paired with the 210 diff solid mounted in front and 75D mounted in the rear and a one piece chromoly DSS shaft with solid adapter in place of the flex disk, there is a lot of noise. It almost makes the car less enjoyable to me, but is offset by the fact that I don’t need to worry about breaking the transmission (was on my 3rd ZF320).

The clutch is difficult to modulate in 1st gear. I stall it at least once most times I drive. Maybe a combination of one ceramic and one regular disk would be better for those who don’t need it to hold 900 lbs rwtq. I was sort of on the boundary between what I call big power and regular power and certainly have the potential to make big power with race gas, so I erred on the side of caution since I had fused some non-Ceramic Southbend clutches at the dragstrip and could slip even the ceramic Southbend. The upside is the Spec ceramic twin can take whatever you throw at it.

Currently struggling with making a linkage for a CAE shifter. My first attempts failed because I could not get reverse. The linkage would bind before I could get that far over. It’s a very short linkage and having the trans rotated off center does not help. I did buy the billet console for the regular shifter but don’t really like it and had to do some grinding to get clearance for all the gears. It works but is only single ear mounted and not the best design. I plan to try again with the CAE soon.

The adapter ring and bigger trans made my downpipe and wastegate pipes a very very very tight fit. I had to redo them slightly. This is with bottom mount twinscroll Steedspeed and 0.92 EFR 9180. Put the turbo up top and obviously there is more room.

No thread jack. Good to have info here.
I still have yet to drive the car with the gs6 trans. Four months later.. Hoping to get that modified driveshaft back here next week and finally get to drive it again..

Regarding the shifter, yes, that was by far the most obnoxious part of this job. I have the AKG shifter, and there was NO way to get the shifter to engage all gears the way it was sitting with the brace provided with the kit. I tried a dozen times, nothing I did managed to let it engage reverse. I finally raised the rear of the trans up ~1/2-3/4" with some spacers I made that sit under my bolt through poly trans mounts, and that allowed me to make a linkage that engaged all gears.

Regarding the downpipe and WG; super tight clearance. In fact, the boostlogic manifold required me to make a relocation pipe for the wastegate. I had to kick the wastegate out away from the trans a couple inches to bolt up the wastegate.

When you were running the cheap eBay pump, how confident were you in going on a 300 mile road trip? I feel like it won't like running for 5 hours straight but you have more experience with it than I do and would like to hear your thoughts

I actually took the M3 on a 6-7 hour road trip with the ebay scavenge pump. The ebay pump never failed me. The only reason I replaced it is because it was noisy as hell. But it worked great.

Glad to hear that! My pump itself isn't that noisy but the vent is loud AF

That's what I hear about Spec clutches from the n54 forums.
