If it is computer controlled will it work without a motor that uses a compatible ECU?
The most satisfying feeling on this entire planet is pulling a ratchet shifter on an auto.
The 80e will be much harder to fit then a 400
you can control the 80e with a micro quiet independent of the engine or tied into the engine ecu if it's a ms3

I think a Microsquirt setup going for around $350 with a harness these days if you wanted to run one as a trans controller independent of the ECU, not bad. MS2 could probably be done even cheaper than Micro I think.
Alternatively, I think I've read somewhere that there are full manual valvebody kits for 80s...
I can't rememebr but I know the one guy that did it murdered his tunnel

Grinded the shit out of my caliper and got the 15 " wheel to fit on the drivers side. Now just gotta do the pass side.
Post before and after picks.

Yes they fit. I'll get pics on the passenger side.
Would you like pics of anything else rocketing into my mouth?

Holy shit yall . I think I might have found the issue :0
The flange that connects my drives haft to trans is totally mangled. Half inch steel flange is twisted like a freaking pretzel.

It's hard to tell for sure from the pics, are all three ears twisted the same, as if it was just from pure torque action?
All three ears are twisted. Yes.
Oh well ..
could be worse, when I sheared the bolts it broke the alignment pit off the output shaft and the flailing driveshaft ripped a 4" gash in the trans tunnel.
Damn! Yeah I'm lucky then. Especially considering how long I was driving it like this. A few hundred miles at least.
Well next time it's on the road it'll be with a DSS ds, 210mm diff, and 15" hoosiers!
My driveshaft did that but with more twist and with cracks. I feel fortunate that it held together long enough for me to find the damage. Wheel hop sucks.

Yeah well I'm hoping that once I get some 15" Hoosiers on the rear I won't be hopping. My entire rear end is solid mounted, everything is new.
I was really pussyfooting off the line too. I never launched it at the track. I'm sure if I had this would have been much worse lol.
pics
My car never hopped with the hoosiers.
