M3 has finally reclaimed DD status. Driving it primarily over my Jeep now.
One small issue; when warm and at idle, I get an occasional misfire and occasional idle bounce/high idle(1200ish). It also leans out a bit which is accompanied by the misfiring. Doesn't happen always, and it drives wonderfully at part throttle/in boost.
Im thinking vac leak. Sound plausible?? Today I sprayed everything intake related with carb cleaner. I didnt get any changes in idle, however when I sprayed my throttle body/intake manifold around the injectors and where it meets the head, I would get a brief cloud of white smoke out the exhaust. Only lasted a couple seconds immediately following me spraying the TB/intake mani. It would clear up until I sprayed again. However, like I said.. no change in idle. But the carb cleaner was obviously getting into the intake. Does this sound like my problem?
Car's looking great, but sadnesses await.

Glad to see its coming along. That Jeep is going to get lonely. You might want to pull the battery or put a battery tender on it.
It took a while for my DME to relearn things after I installed the turbo but you're probably onto something with the injectors. I did a boost leak test and found a pretty fair amount of air getting past the orings on my injectors. I used a thin thin coating of lube on the orings and reinstalled the fuel rail. Haven't leaked since. I used stuff called Petro Gel. It's a food grade version of Vaseline.

And I figured out the occasional high idle....my floor mat was binding the gas pedal. ..lol. ...
For a note, i dont see any reason to use any specific oil. Hell you could use motor oil. I have used lithium and molylube-redline stuff when needed.

The reason I brought this up was because my injectors were brand new as well. I used Petro Gel because I had it in hand.
I also used extra washers on the small plate adapters that you use on the m50 manifold and the obd2 fuel rail. An extra washer will push the fuel tail down. Basically pushing the injectors down into their holes. Too many washers is not good. Instead of pushing them down it causes them to push out sideways.
I'm running around 15-18lbs of boost but I run a small exhaust housing so I think it may be too small causing pressure to backup. I'm looking at swapping out my .63ar for a .82ar. They aren't that expensive and I'm curious more than anything. I like the response my .63 gives but I'm curious to see what difference a .82 will make at the track.

I ordered a new TB gasket, once that gets here Ill pull the TB and injectors and take care of all that. In the mean time, the misfire is so mild im not sweating it. Others don't even notice it, but I do...
Had my first major oh shit moment last night; I was merging onto the interstate and laid onto it in 3rd gear and hit 11 psi and broke traction. Scared the shit outta me lol, still not used to the power.
Its raining today, it sucks to drive this car in the rain now not because of lack of drivability, but knowing boosties are available and not being able to use them is so damn hard. Its like leaving a steak in front of a dog and not letting him have it! Torture
At 440 miles now, so I think its safe to say clutch is broken in.
I also think I need some poly trans mounts. ANyone here running stock trans mounts? Under hard accel, its hard to shift(doesn't want to go into gear) which I am assuming is due to excessive movement. Brand new motor mounts(poly passenger, OE rubber driver) and like new trans mounts. No issues under light or moderate accel.
I run uuc w/ enforcers

What clutch and what slave? I had the same issues with a uuc cerametallic clutch awhile back. Switched from an oem m3 slave to the smaller bore, longer piston 325i slave and it fixed the issue for me. Stiffened the pedal up a fare bit though.

I have stock dmf, fx stage 4 6 puck unsprung clutch&pp. Stock m3 slave. Interesting idea... never heard of that
What about the trans mounts?
Seems like an issue with movement to me. Shifts fine at easy and moderate accel, but WOT it is a bit hard to get into the next gear.
Next on purchase list;
Poly trans mounts and drivers side engine mount

Front struts

I had the UUC mounts but they tore up, running stock motor mounts and rogue engineering trans mounts.

I had the UUC poly mount garbage on my s52 e30 and they tore up with hard DD and canyon driving in less than 3 months. Buy AKG if you want quality parts.

I wouldn't buy poly. Period. For a trans or engine mount.

^^Why? and what would you suggest instead? Im almost certain my issue is from too much movement under heavy accel.

Im running an AKG pass side poly mount. Im pretty inclined at the moment to buy a drivers side to match and a pair of their trans mounts.
