Couple pics from right before engine went in.
This turbo requires a hell of a lot of grinding to fit. Must have removed 3/4" of material between the block and the cover and there is just enough clearance for a folded up piece of printer paper to get stuck between the cover and the block XD

I'd want more clearance than that to allow for expansion due to heat.

Meh it worked on my last motor.
I don't feel comfortable grinding any more material off either the block or the cover. The side of the block is now concave from all the material I removed and the compressor cover is extremely thin where I shaved it down. I would like more clearance too, but I'm gonna have to live with this.

Lol.
So today I got the oil lines connected, intake manifold on, drive shaft attached. Re-wired my scavenge pump to be a little cleaner. Hooked up my fuel systen.
Everything is done now, it is ready to start. Just waiting on my obd1 coils to get here, hopefully in a couple days. I'm nervous as hell, if this motor doesn't work I'm probably done for quite a while, maybe for good on this platform. Fingers crossed.
There are always bugs to work out. Don't get discouraged.

Bugs I can work out.
I mean if I fucked up the motor build and the motor is shit, then I'm probably gonna have to take a good long break from this car.
Ive never built a engine before, let alone one that I am asking to handle 600+ whp.. And I am not super confident in my end product, even though I did my research.
It will be fine. If not take the WG line off and make a final pull.

If you did your research like I did you'll be fine. I know the feeling though. That first start and drive is a little nerve wracking. When you start racking up miles the feeling of accomplishment will make all the stress and destroyed bank account worth it.
Can't wait to read your post after the first drive.
So I decided to fill her up with oil and turn the engine over with the starter till the oil pressure light went out. It isn't going out. I've cranked it 3 times fr 5-7 seconds each time and the light isn't going out.
Spark plugs are out and she has 7 qts of oil in her...
Hmmm
Oil pump nut fell off already?

It took my engine a bit more time then that to prime.
Nvm I was just being a bitch.
10 seconds and the light went off.
Phew. First disaster averted... fml I'm a nervous wreck
I don't think I was even this nervous the first time I got laid XD
This sucks ass.
Got my car completely done but cant start it cause I'm waiting on some damn coils
I think my blood pressure has increased by 50mmhg in the past week waiting to start this mfer..
I have learned that it is the last few things to get a car running that take the longest to arrive.
Coils get here tomorrow.
Not gonna get any sleep tonight.
On a side note. I really need to upgrade my intercooler. I'm still running an eBay special... maybe if all works out tomorrow an IC will be on my short list of things to upgrade..
