    Do you mean between .010-.015"?

0.0001-0.015 seems like a large variance. LOL

he said .001 to .0015" .010-.015" would sound like pots and pans in a dryer.

Plus or minus .100" on all clearances. I like it, now I can sell my bore gauges and micrometers and just use a ruler.

Refer to signature. m52 with 225k miles. Been getting oil in piping so need to make sure crank case pressure isn't the culprit. Was gonna steal OP's turbo drain setup but should check the internalz first.

    -oil filter housing installed

Tonight I hope to get the rest of the bottom end along with the timing cover completely buttoned up and hopefully pick up my head from the machine shop today as well. The light is getting brighter...

I just want to assess the quality of his lockwire job and make snide comments about it.

I don't use safety wire. I clean the threads and use a drop of red loctite. People way over think the oil pump nut.

If you have ever removed the nut after it had been red locitited, even after 50k+ hard miles, you would know that it would NEVER come off in a million years on its own. In fact, I think blue loctite would be more appropriate.

I use red loctite, safety wire and spike the threads on the shaft with a chisel. I may have tac welded on top of that.
