    I saw a diy where a guy cut the case off an oem pump and clamped it to the 255. Not the cleanest install but it's free.

    flyfishvt is talking about mounting the pump to the stock housing
    you're talking about the prefilter that is on the pump as a strainer to keep out the big chunks of sadness that may be lurking in your tank.

    Aaaaahhhh. Sorry for the confusion. Didn't your walbro come with a sock? The only difference I saw was where the filter attaches to the pump my walbro has a different type fitting.

    There is a 255 with a hole offset that fits best. Might also be some filters that fit better. If you search around you may find the details.
