    Manually jumped the fuel pump to test and adjust fpr.

    Turned it up to 65psi and the eBay rail didn't leak a drop from anywhere. Everything is basically done now, I'll crank the regulator all the way up later and see if the rail still holds. I'm confident though based on the measurements!

    EBay rail holding strong at 85psi.

    Did find a leak at the AN fittings on my fuel filter. So I put some fuel safe sealant on them and will let it cure over night. Not much fun happening as of now.

    I know you hate my advice but....

    You should only use thread sealant on tapered threads (pipe thread), never on flared fitting. Flared fitting seal by the metal to metal contact of the two flared surfaces, not the threads. On fittings that use o-rings you should oil the o-rings before install. Plumbing 101.

    Just cause I don't always take your advice doesn't mean I hate it lol. I like any constructive advice I am given.

    The fuel filter housing does not use O-rings, just a -8AN fitting. With no sealant it was leaking, so I applied some sealant. I don't see an issue with this if it doesn't leak, do you?

    If a flared fitting is leaking, it is because of dirt or damage on the sealing surface of you have a mixture of AN and non AN parts. AN flared fittings are a 37° angle, automotive fittings are 45° flare angle. If sealant is used on the flare, when tightened the sealant can/will get squished off the flare and into the system which can then contaminate the systems small prof aces and passages. I would undo the connection and clean off the surfaces, inspect, reassemble and leak check again.

    This. When I built my fuel system and first ran it I had a leak at a connection union...I undid it, brake cleaned it, reassembled and all was good.

    If that fails somewhere (I'm forgetting the name sells a copper crush gasket in different -an sizes you can use on the flared part of the fittings to help it seal up.

    XRP sells a thin waffer that sits on top of an AN joint to reseal it.

    Yes, there are gaskets that you can put between the flares but they are something that is not commonly used or needed in a clean undamaged flared joint. It definitely shouldn't be needed for a new fuel system install.

    Are you sure its all AN? Are the taper angles identical?

    Yes;
    Cleaned up the threads and got one fitting to stop leaking. One fitting still leaks. Going to mess with it some more.. If I cant get it to stop then I will go to a plan B.

    Dumb question but which end of the fuel filter faces which way? One end has an opening and one does not (see pic)

    I'm assuming the open end is the end the fuel enters, but wanna make sure.

    I believe generally the fuel goes into the open end and then gets filtered continues in the line. so open end towards the tank, closed towards the engine.

    someone correct me if I'm wrong please
