Another reason a welded diff is fantastic! I drove my broken axle home about that same distance, and the diff is completely untouched.

You gotta learn that ebrake technique or you will break something every time until your 100% bullet proof. Even then, axles DSS or whatever can break and have. It sucks at first, yes you will make a fool out of yourself the first time or even second. But with practice, you will get consistent. Then once consistent, you will push a little harder and harder till you meet your goal.

I think it is okay. I was kinda worried about it but I was able to keep it a pretty constant 30-35mph the entire way home without slipping it too much. It sounds fine and still locks up as good as it did when I left the track so I think it is alright. Ill change the fluid though..

I need someone to tell me this shit lol. None of my buddies drag race so I'm learning all this by trial and error. And a lot of error. So youre saying slip the clutch with the ebrake engaged to preload the drivetrain?

Its been mentioned, in this thread. Put another axle in there and start practicing. You will have a much better chance of staying together, then when you get the hang of it, you will push it harder and harder out the hole. Takes the shock out of the launch.

Yes, before even staging the car after your burnout you start applying your handbrake. Slowly let the car roll into the first set of beams and stop before lighting up the second set. Then find your clutch engagement on the pedal and barely have the clutch engaged. The car will want to move, but it can't because you're holding the brake. Now comes the fun part, rev it to anywhere between 4-5k and let it budge and light up the second beam. Now you're fully staged and you'll feel the rear end of the car lift and want to move. When the 3rd light turns yellow, punch it, drop the handbrake and slip off the clutch at the same time. Oh, and hold on. You're in for a treat. It takes A LOT of practice to get it right. I've sat at the line for 4-6 seconds trying to get it right.

Okay so downloaded tapatalk so I could post pics. This is from the past few weeks and the resulting snapped axle..
New axle incoming, should be back on the road shortly.

Seat time will do more than anything else. Spend the money on track nights. Go every week. Practice that ebrake technique. You have a 135mph car, don't buy another mod till your running consistent times.

I need to but honestly I can't afford to keep breaking shit. I may practice the ebrake technique on the street some but I cannot afford to keep breaking my shit right now. It's killing me financially.

Last BMW autox event I was told to slow down due to the huge drift I did on the straight section of the course. They said that there was a bunch of new drivers at the event and they didn't want the newbies trying to drive like me. I was getting to just under 100 mph on the straight.

Beat me to it. Auto. I enjoy the hell out of my mid-9 auto street car while others are breaking shit and still go slower. No bragging rights if it's slow and/or broken.

And auto on the street is a blast if the converter/engine/cam/turbo combo is correct

I agree 100%. I had essentially the same car, 1 auto and 1 manual and the auto was way more fun.
