Avee has a beautiful black e39 M5 with widened stock wheels that fill out the wheel wells. It looks awesome.

I've been really thinking of an E92 M3 as a winter car.

I drive my 08E90M3 year round in NH. Mine is lowered about 1.5” and that does not help. It does OK until the snow is too deep. I put snows on my turbo E36 as well. An AWD car is definitely better in the snow. Our 08 535xi wagon with snows does well.

I wont drive my E36 in salt because it's basically rust free already and don't want to cause it to start. I've got a Nissan Titan I drive in snow but like... it's big and I just miss my car haha.

I can't believe I just read through 4,480 posts haha. What a great thread. Nice to see the OP enjoying his car when it was working. Time to read part 2...

Thanks! Car has been behaving itself recently.
I recently got a chance to race a couple of fast Z06s. Got one W but took a L to my good friends built motor C6 z06 w/ a massive procharger. His Z made 900whp on a mustang dyno, and he had about 2-3 cars on me from 60-140. Honestly super happy that I kept up as well as I did.

Documenting is good because you can go back and see your progress.. Also good for others to learn from.
I delivered pizza for almost 3 years. Built my M3 while doing so. But I no longer work there, graduated school about a year ago now.

I realized after I posted that I probably should've worded it differently. I really want to congratulate you on your success with your career, house, etc. I'm going to college for mechanical engineering along with work so I hope it can work out somewhat like yours. There are quite a few turbo E36 builds documented but barely any for E46

damn man, those pro charged new z06's are fast as hell! what's left to change with your current hardware to hang at the 1000wheel level : cobras, gtr's, z06's, 2jz/rb26, boys? seems like your floating around 750wheel now still on the sxe366? I'm assuming you have that turbo maxed out now?

So as many of you know I smashed my car into a guard rail about a year ago. Just now tackling the rear end. Got the old tail panel out and new one spot welded in place. Jesus what a miserable f'ing job. Just gotta prep and paint it now.

I may be close to 700whp. I need to dyno to find out. I prob need another 100whp to hang with 1000whp cars; so I really just need bigger injectors, an additional fuel pump and probably a bigger turbo. The s366sxe I have is probably very close to maxed out. Im running 22-24psi w/ e85 so I don't know for sure where I am at, but I suspect that turbo is running out of breath..

Car is looking good. I made at least 800 whp on a cast wheel s366. Trap speed calculators had it at about 850 whp. We have different setups but 800 whp should be no sweat on a 366sxe

Interesting. How much boost were you running to get 800?

trap speed calculators put it at like 790 at 28 lbs. It would reliably trap 150 mph at that boost. At 32 lbs I figured it was right about 850. We both have different setups as far as valve train, displacement, compression, exhaust, ect... so our setups aren't really comparable, but the airflow should be their.

E85 is so amazing. Saved my ass many times. Since I'm running my fuel system on the ragged edge I've seen AFRs in the high 13s at 20+psi. I've accidentally over boosted to 30+psi on a fuel system that is maxed out around 24psi from my s366sxe.

I like the body work! You just jump right in there and do it. I’d like to do some on my car — probably as part of rust repair and in preparation for a repaint. I need more time and energy than I have right now, but you are inspiring.
