ford taurus. I was walking to the liquor store to buy a lotto ticket and watched this 2002 racing a taurus. I was supprised and impressed. No, I'm sure it wasn't an SHO. The '02 sounded awesome when he shifted.

Since many M3 owners are upgrading to S50 powerplants, there have been quite a few S14 engines up for sale. This is a very popular upgrade for a 2002. 200HP in a 2200lb car feels a shitload faster than you think. Cams and bored throttles bump you up to 225HP with decent torque. Ditch the AFM and you get quite a jump in the torque curve from bottom to top.

Yes it was a 2002. You know, as in 2002tii or so. Not a model year 2002. I am not sure what year the car was but I believe that it had the squarish tail lights. I'll have to look more closely next time I see it around.

1974-1976 2002 had square taillights. 1973 and earlier had little round taillights, which many 2002 buffs dub the "real" 2002.

My 74 2002tii was a little silver bullet. It was barely streetable, but a real fun machine.
With some engine swapping and the right parts, it's not beyond hope to tweak 210, maybe 220hp into the little guy which tips at only 2100 lbs stripped. Power/weight of an E46 M3.
It's fun to open a can of whup ass on some punk in his 5.0 while driving some "little funny lookin furrin car..."
They also have NO rustproofing, and insane amounts of money is required to keep them on the road. I let the rust eat away at it for awhile, and then sold the hot-rod goodies.
