Don't you worry. We'll take good care of her.
I'll be back the afternoon of the 26th, driving to the car by that evening. The next day I'll be at DUDMD's place for Terraphantm's program to be flashed to the DME and with luck, that week after the adaptation, on a dyno.
Then, I might have a secret I'm dying to reveal. Something wonderful. It's almost as exciting as the key turn I'm looking forward to in 4 days... It's big.
HAH! If you guys were on the West Coast or I was closer to you, I'd be camping on your driveway to get it done. I have a few projects I need to complete before I can get the spece to work on the swap. Also.... I wish I had your team on hand to walk me through, literally hold my hand. I can't deny that I find the whole idea daunting to say the least.
Umm.... you have an accomplice right here on the West Coast and I can get storage space to hide it... I mean store it.
Already on the road ..... well, more like traveling on foot all the way to west coast. ; )
A little pee came out, of me not the car. I'm 20 miles into it's life and although the tune isn't in the computer, I can tell there's power in there waiting to get out.
It sounds great. I'll get a video up shortly.
James more than earned a Cuban cigar for his efforts.
I'll top off the coolant tomorrow morning and record the start-up.
Now as for that secret:
Still some things to be worked out but if all goes well with the flashing of the tune (thinking of doing a dyno run on the 4.4 tune and then a week after the 4.6/4.4 Terraphantm tune)
I'll let you know about the potential addition to this engine that might squeeze out more than a handful of ponies. Stay tuned...

yes a before tune dyno run would be great!
Any issues with it now check engine light? weird running? or the computer self compensated?
E85 fueled, Eaton m112 supercharged 4.5L M62TU, TTV racing flywheel, Spec stage 2+ clutch, 88c thermostat, eibach sway bars, wavetrac 3.15 lsd, m5 steering box, Quantum 340lph fuel pump, Dinan camber plates, some powerflex bushings, Supersprint headers, M5 cats, 2001 gas pedal upgrade and many other things done. all diy by me
So far, so good. I had (before the swap) an O2 sensor code that would pop up intermittently. I assume because I sometimes switch from ethanol free gas to Cheveron supreme. I haven't cleared it but it did pop up right before shutting it down for the night. I'm about to go out to the car and start it up after clearing that code and we'll see.
I should have remembered to install a new one while it was exposed but I wasn't thinking straight.

I've decided to make a dyno run on the stock 4.4 tune before the software flash. It seems only fair.
Then, DUDMD can use Terraphantm's data to flash my DME and after the adaptation, we'll see what's up!

Sounds awesome! What are the specs on your dual exhaust setup?

Thanks. It's a little more "poppy" than it used to be.
Look forward for baseline results
I say 330whp/320wtq.
So, "bank 1" is the passenger side, (why can't it be labeled Port and Starboard like on boats and planes? It makes it fool proof. The diagram just says Right or Left side) I get that but I must have looked at the wrong diagram and ordered the downstream sensor. Not much of a problem except the connector is different front vs back. I found the correct one at a local parts store. Now I'm ready to dyno tomorrow.
In the meantime:

It feels different, sounds different too. It feels like each gear has the punch of the lower subsequent gear from before the swap and pulls with a more even torque curve (butt dyno, I know) just saying it feels like there's something good under your foot as you curl your toes on the pedal. I like it.

You would...
I have a Dyno in my shop
Are you at stock height or pretty low?

Hey D!
While I didn't know that you had a dyno, that'll come in handy after the flash. I feel I owe it to Drift-office to return for these next 2 runs. After that however, it would help you tune the DME and since you've flashed 2 of my cars already, I guess I can spread the loyalty around. Is it a Dynojet? Not that I know if it's better or anything but it was the model I used and for these next 2 runs, I want to keep using for reference.
My car is stock height.
I texted you like 6 months ago asking if you had one, guess I should have kept asking. lol
200 miles added to the clock so far on the new o2 sensor and no codes. The car seems to run fine and is getting its legs.
A little louder than I was used to and at different rpm's. I've cringed twice while passing cops hoping they wouldn't feel the need to stop me for an interview. Perhaps it's time for a cutoff valve to a muffler for just such occasions. (don't worry, I slapped myself when I said it)
I am liking the gurgling pop-pop-pop on downshifts to a stop or down hills. It pulls nicely and if I didn't have 1st or second gears, I think the car would drive just fine. I'd kill for a 6th gear OD.
I say leave the exhaust alone with your current setup. There are a lot of owners out there driving muscle cars with really loud exhausts than what we have or modify. Not even close to what they've got.
Mine is a Dyno Dynamics
Of course, keep it apples to apples for comparison, use the same Dyno as base runs.
