hello, i recently bought m54b30 camshaft for my m52b28, seller said the camshaft is from 330ci (e46), i compared my stock m52b28 cam and lobes looks exactly same, also i measured lobe diameter for both and both were 47mm
maybe it's not m54b30 cam?
here is pics:

The cams might have a different center line. I noticed this with my b30 camshaft as well. However. I did notice my lobe tip was indeed 2mm higher than my stock. Just took a lot of staring..
i'll check that, but the duration looks also same as m52b28 camshaft, i have m50b20 non vanos camshaft and it's lobe looks like it has much more duration. look pics
this m50b20nv intake cam
this is m54b30

I can tell by the pic 2nd from the bottom that the cam on the left is m54b30. The lobe is at least a mm larger.
That's all that is different. The lobes are the same just centered more forward the piont. If you compare m50 to m50tu to m52 to s50 to m54 all the cams will be closely alike. Remember the lifters that match said b30 cam are smaller also. So the combo is what makes the magic happen.
Hello. then was m54 camshaft? I have the same doubt!
i think it was m54b30 camshaft but it was from 330ci and duration/lift was same as m52b28 cam, i've returned it and bought zhp camshaft which looks like it has much more duration and also it has higher lift, difference is about 0.8mm in height

Hmm... On second look. It is questionable.

Are you saying the 330ci has irregularly smaller m54b30 intake cam specs? This be the first I've heard. That means il have to measure mine. Sheesh.. *palm to forehead
i think there is a differences between 330ci intake cam x5 3.0 intake cam and zhp intake cam
i believe some 330ci's are with smaller spec intake cam (228/9mm), i had also x5 3.0 intake cam and it was 240/9.7mm
zhp is 244/9.7mm
if you're going to buy m54b30 intake cam, measure it before buying, lobes must be 47.7mm
also you can feel the duration of a cam with your finger
look, this is 240/9.7mm non vanos intake cam

this is m54b30 intake cam from 330ci that i've returned back to the seller (228/9mm)

and this is m54b30 intake cam from x5 3.0 (240/9.7mm - same as non vanos intake cam)
x5 iintake cam.jpg
look, x5 and non vanos cam lobes are more oval than 330ci cam, you can see it in the pictures and also you can feel it with your finger

I just had a performance shop take measurements of a set of ZHP cams. Here's how they stack up:
Stock B30:
Intake 240 degree, unknown lift?
Exhaust 228 degree, unknown lift?
ZHP:
Intake 246 degree, 10mm lift
Exhaust 237 degree, 9.4mm lift
Schrick 248/248 set:
Intake 248 degree, 10mm lift
Exhaust 248 degree, 10.8mm lift
Documentation attached.

I believe the regular B30 intake came is 9.8mm lift. That's what i have in my M50.
