Is anyone running an external GPS with Harry's Lap Timer?

I've been using Harry's for the past year and love it. It's pretty accurate but since it's my primary lap timer, I'd like to improve the accuracy. I'm thinking about using the Dual Skypro XGPS160 which is recommended by Harry's. Is anyone using this specific one or any other external GPS and what is your opinion of it? How much improved is the Harry's experience with the external GPS?

    Thanks!

I use the Dual XGPS150 5hz external, it works great. Definitely a worthy upgrade.

So once the dual is paired with the phone, it doesn't have to be re-paired before each session, correct?

Yes it has to be paired every session. The dual takes up the bluetooth signal so I bought a Wi-Fi based OBD2 scanner, both work great.

So I ordered an Automatic brand OBD II wifi adapter as it was recommended by Harry's. I downloaded automatic's app, however, and the adapter seems to only log info related to driving so as to maximize your fuel efficiency. It doesn't provide access to all the sensors I expected it to allow me to access (water temp, oil temp, tach, intake temp, etc when plugged into my E90 335). Does anyone else have experience with this adapter or any others that work with Harry's and provide access to all the sensors?

I'm going to return the Automatic and order a new one.

It provides info for whatever your PCM is willing to spit out, atleast I think that's how it works.

For me, it provides RPM, Throttle percent, Coolant temp, etc. Though I have an LS1 PCM. Friends S2000 provides same info except throttle percent.

digging up old thread and hoping someone can answer 2 questions:

    1) I would like to use the Dual via bluetooth and the OBD2 reader, also via bluetooth. Can I use 2 bluetooth devices at once, with Harry's? I am assuming since an iPhone can support both a keyboard and headphones w/ bluetooth, at the same time, it will work. Thoughts?

    2) Where do I mount the Dual in my E46 ? Any suggestions?

    Thanks

    1. Yes not a problem. I use the GoPoint BT1 OBD and Dual XGPS simultaneously which are both Bluetooth devices.

    2. Mount on rear parcel shelf so it has a clear view to sky. You can zip tie it to one of the rear child seat anchors.
