89 750il power steering line spooky mystery

so finally changed my power steering pump and in the process realized that the pressure line from the pump to the booster is leaking. problem is realoem.com shows this line as 3 seperate lines with a filter, mine is one line with no filter. i cant find anything close to mine online. its basically metal from the pump drops down to the front of the oil pan, turns into rubber the length of the pan, back to medal running front to back of the passenger side of the pan, back to rubber running back across the motor towards the booster. realoem.com calls them out as #3, #16 and #20.

if anybody has one for sale i would glady buy it.

based on this drawing, recheck with your car http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=32_1917
I assume the filter in the drawing does not matter, my car without ASC+T also does not have it, it is only installed when the car has ASC+T

Im taking a week off in December and Im going to replace the pump and all the other lines. Im going to rebuild my LADS due to the leaks. The leaks have destroyed the lower rubber cushions on the LADS and the mounts and other components are original and wore out. My main concern is the internals in the LAD. Johan talks about a nylon ring and a rubber "o" ring inside the shaft housing and mentions something about having the nylon ring made or manufactured??? if wore out. I would hate to get the LADS tore apart and come to a stop over nylon rings. Anybody have any wisdom in this area?

Nylon ring you do not need and no one ever made it. On my website there are plenty of pics, most of the parts are o-rings. The top seal dimensions I also posted some time back. There I have some spare, unity wanted to look for a local supplier, maybe he has found them already. The most difficult thing are the lower rubber cushions on the LAD, they are not available as single items and they are originally vulcanized into the metal. I have posted here a solution
    http://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/sh...=poly+bush+LAD
I have not tested them yet on my car as my ones are still good, bought originally 4 sets and the rest distributed to friends here in Japan, I have only 1 set. Maybe you can find a shop which can make you such a poly bush with the metal bush.
Or get another pair of used LAD shocks and use the best out of all these parts.

I visit the junk yards frequently looking for e32 stuff. Ive yet to find a vehicle that still have the LADS attached. Its like some LAD hoarder beat me to the punch. Im going to go for it because Im a risk taker, as you already know with my valve body experience, which turned out to be a valuable experience. Shogun I will revisit your web site again and I am grateful for all your help.

Awesome! Thanks guys I guess I was thinking I had to find the exact same line, I saw the lines shogun pointed out but it just didn't click and that would have worked. Thanks again shogun.
Tsmcg161 great find! Thanks for your help.

I made the mistake of buying a rebuild kit for the power steering pump as I read somewhere it can be done. It was a mistake s the kit came with everything but the shaft seal. So I think in doing the job twice I ruptured the fitting where the rubber and metal lines are pressed together. So stay away from the rebuild kits and thanks again for the info

Normally for the repair kit for the 750 power steering pump there comes a shaft seal with the kit. That shows the kit we did already in 2008 http://www.bimmerboard.com/forums/posts/526913/
But you need a press to push the shaft out.

Ya I was sure there would be one but to my surprise, can't recall the name of the kit but I'll see if I can track down my invoice and update for the next person, it was a real bummer. I had a spare pump laying around. When ever I see one at the salvage yard I go and harvest ha ha

Op you can have power steering lines rebuilt for cheap. I had my transmission cooler lines rebuilt by a local hydraulic hose shop. It was only $50 to do both my transmission hoses and a power steering hose. Way cheaper than buying them new. They even offered to do steel braided hose but I didn't want to pay extra.

37131137458 fed line for the LAD http://de.bmwfans.info/parts-catalog...?s=37131137458 I just wanted to order from Germany, reply: no stock at BMW HQ, ETA of new ones unknown.
Also the other online shops like FCPEURO mention: backorder, no ETA
Will wait a bit, otherwise I have to send it a hydraulic shop to re-crimp new hydraulic hoses onto the pipes.

37131137458 is no longer available. In 2017 I was lucky to still find a new one on Ebay U.K.. But apparently no shop has it anymore nowadays. That part was only used on E32 with LAD.
Only possibility is you send your old one to a hydraulic shop to remove the old crimp sleeves, replace the old hose and recrimp with new crimp sleeves. Hydraulic hose must be layed out for about 180 bar bursting pressure, that is with some reserve, actual max. pressure of the power steering pump is 130 bar.

It looks like the ETK is wrong with the drawings of the connections for the power steering pump for the 750, ETK shows
hose # 12 intake manifold 32411133947 from reservoir to feed line power steering pump connected by hollow bolt #14 32411117182 M16X28, that hose is held on the pump by banjo bold and on the Pentosin container by hose clamp
#15 Pressure hose assy 32411139506 is held by hollow bolt 32411117181 M14X26
    http://bmwfans.info/parts-catalog/E3..._3/#1139506_15
as you can see from my pic here. the smaller size banjo bolt is the second, not the first http://www.bimmerboard.com/members/shogun/hydrhose1.jpg
