Painted the trunk and undercarriage today. Diff final assembly completed, too.

The smell of gear oil in the kitchen is not appreciated by others

Ireland Engineer subframe bushings installed. The differential is nearly installed.

Since I don't have the color code for the undercarriage, the black undercoat will have to do for now. Once I'm done with the project, I'll take the car to a collision shop to see if they can match the OEM undercarriage color.

The project of reinforcing the suframe on my convertible is nearly over. The Super Sprint exhaust and Dinan strut brace get installed next weekend, which will wrap up this project.

Thanks again to those who've helped me over the months, especially Randy Forbes.

If anyone in Phoenix wants my homemade subframe bushing removing tool, send me a PM and I'll give it to you. If anyone outside of Phoenix wants it, I just ask that you cover the cost of shipping.

    Summary:
    Installed Randy Forbes subframe kit
    New Ireland Engineering subframe bsuhings.
    New Super Sprint Exhaust
    Dinan Strut Brace
    Replaced swaybar endlinks and bushings.
Replaced the differential impulse wheel and replaced all of the seals...etc.

I need to improve my color matching

I'll take you up on the subframe bushing tool offer if you decide you're willing to ship. I'll PM you.

In the second picture, it looks like where the spotwelds were drilled out, that you left the holes open; is that the case?

Ideally, the spotweld cutter shouldn't penetrate the the underlying panel, but if it does, I'd recommend that it be welded closed.

Since it looks like you're all done, to prevent water from getting in there, you could put some foil duct tape (NOT the gray cloth type, though true Gaffer's Tape might work) to close off those holes__fore and aft, if also present on the leading side.

I saw the holes earlier, during the construction pics, but took for granted that you'd know to weld, or otherwise seal them off__I guess I assumed too much

If I'm wrong and those holes don't pass all the way through, then good!

(this one's just showing off... )

Randy -- Yes, I used a bit too much force and drilled the spot welds completely out. Those holes will get plugged this weekend. I also used those holes to spray additional primer and paint into the cavity after welding. Thanks for making my finishing work look like a rookie job

Having a local person experienced in doing this job... nice... we should talk! I've got randy's kit sitting on a shelf
My wheel bolts require more torque than your honda makes.

Another happy RF customer here. Please excuse the rusty diff bolts...I tried to save a few bucks by using some spare E36 M3 hardware.

They really did a nice job. Of course, Randy's review is what really counts

    Randy,

Don't sell yourself short! I think it looks extra pretty due to the finishing strip (I think it's a tape of some sort) they added over the top. I'm not sure why it's there...maybe just sound insulation? I don't dislike the look though.

I'll be sure to pass your praises onto the body shop (SVE Auto Body in Broomfield, CO).

I'd be confident recommending that you add them to your installers list as well. I can't find any faults in the work. They did the entire job start to finish in a week (started last Wednesday and were done Tuesday this week). I guess just 5 days as they aren't open on the weekends. I think the starting condition was quite important too. There's a Coupe in there right now having the kit installed, and it was started on a good week or two before mine. The owner of the shop was explaining the problems...apparently the owner had welded in plates top and bottom (one in the trunk and one above the original diff mount). Then he bolted the plates together. The diff mount snapped off somehow, and most of their time has been spent cutting those plates out of the car. It was still there when I picked up my car yesterday.

The guys at Clownshoe Motorsports would be a good place to start. While they have their own custom reinforcement, they're also fully capable of installing Randy's kit as well.

Highly recommended and they're at 2605 Andjon Dr
