Need help from Seattle E36 vert owners
My mom's got a great condition 97 328 but it has a leaking convertible top that drips water from the front cowl gasket, so water collects at each corner of the cowl, then drips onto the thigh bolster on both sides of the car. It's also got tension strap issues where the back window will contact the metal portion of the trunk as it folds up, then last but not least the top needs to be tucked in at the corners before the final cover comes down otherwise parts of the top will get pinched between the final cover. Has anyone local to Seattle (I live in Marysville, she lives in Edmonds) successfully fixed/repaired things like that and willing to help me out? I've watched some YouTube video of some guy smearing silicone on the cowl gasket, but ultimately I'd rather just buy the tension strap repair kit or whatever as needed (minus that overpriced $300 cowl gasket) and have someone actually help/show me how to fix it for my mother before the weather really take s a turn. I can read about repairs all day long, but the best teacher in life is experience, so hopefully someone has experience and is willing to help. Thanks.
