that's clearly the shifter
-Alex
It was more the idea of it.
Why not do it for both? Different colors or something.
I was toying with the idea of using both grips, one on the shifter and one on the ebrake, and may end up doing that at some point, but for now just focusing on the ebrake.
-Alex
That would just increase throw in the shifter, wouldn't it?
potentially, depending on the relative height of the new shift rod I make to where the current one is.

love the waffle design
Wow, this thread makes my swap look like child's play. Very interested in how the front steering system turns out.
I still can't seem to get my driveshaft angles right so I don't get any wobble. Thinking I may have to go to to a single piece driveshaft.
Are you using a stock filter/regulator? Where are you mounting it?

Wow I'm just speechless like seriously speechless, this is definitely my goals for my car, Sub'd.
Thanks brother for giving me hope.
They tried to bury us.
They didn't know we were seeds.

Ill surely keep everyone posted on the rack swap. When planning the engine/trans placement, we made sure we knew where the diff input flange was placed in relation to the tunnel, which is off to the passenger side a bit. We staggered the engine/trans accordingly. I had to cut out the "rib" in the tunnel that the stock rear support bracket bolted to so the driveshaft would fit right. I have nearly no perceivable driveline angle. I was taking a picture of the ebrake plumbing, but you can see the trans off to the pass side of the tunnel. Sorry for the pictures, took them with a potato.
Vette filter/regulator nearly in the same spot at the factory filter. I cut the stock mounting bracket off and put a rivnut in to mount it to. This is fed by a walbro 255 in the factory tank location.

This will be the last major update to this thread. Id like to create a more thorough project thread, rather than just a massive picture dump. Anywho, we got the ehxaust installed last night and got it running. Downside is the used water pump i stupidly installed is bad. May drive by Sunday if i can find someone to splice a high pressure power steering line (joining the ls1 line to factory e36 line).

Very good work. If I bring you my swap will you fix the braking system on it? How loud is that single muffler?
Isn't it amazing how you use like 99% new parts and of the few things that are used are like half bad already?
Haha well I'd whole heartedly suggest putting in a v8 car remote booster setup. Haven't driven yet so not sure how loud it actually is but it's not quiet haha. I didn't want it to be.
10-4 on the used parts man haha. Every time.

That subframe looks quite a bit thinner than the stock one. Any plans for reinforcement?
Tell us more about the Z3 rack, was it difficult?
Awesome!
Oh man, rack and pinion set up. Looks beautiful!
Nice work man!
Finally got to see the photos. This is incredible. The work is top notch. Very much looking forward to seeing this progress. Would love to get the LS tourings together!!
In cause dildo. er, I mean LSx.
Let us know where the dedicated build thread is going to be.
Will do! thanks all. Finished up my Napa special power steering high pressure line. Came out awesome and looks really professional. We slapped the front end back on it and put 30 miles worth of a first drive under our belt last night. Only casualty was a loose upper rad hose clamp. It separated itself from its friend and we lost about a gallon of coolant. Quick stop for some water and borrowing a tool out of the tool kit, and we were back on the road. I used one of the m60 under intake coolant tubes to create a custom upper rad hose. I need to roll the ends a bit to make sure it doesnt slip off again. Made a couple adjustments to the tune (tip in enrichment and some fuel up top) and shes cruising perfectly. It makes some amazing power as it is, but theres more in it for sure (just a base tune at the moment and was focusing on driveability first and foremost). The front suspension feels stupendous. I couldnt be happier with it. Its super tight and the steering feels great. All e34's should have come with a rack.
Ill be getting surgery tomorrow (i tore my bicep clean off at the elbow turning wrenches on this thing!), and wont be able to drive the car for a couple weeks. In the meantime i should be able to come up with a new thread. It will be posted in the e34 section of course.

It will surely be seeing BimmerFest this year. Do you venture to that event?
