    1995 BMW E34 Wagon With S38 M5 engine Swap

This would be fun but have a feeling it would be lots of trouble.

    From the article:
The seller claims a lot of work & cash were put into the conversion & we hope that means the job was done right.

Yes, lots of trouble, like hooning the town w/ cargo and dogs and bikes on top. I've wanted to do this for awhile, but I would want the extra grunt of a 3.8. BMW never put the 3.6 in a touring.

Don't see how this would be that complicated. Donor M5, touring, swap various bits. No custom work. Everything bolts right in. Even has the same sls.

agreed! and thought for a second, "couldve been started out life as a 530it which would make it harder" but no! literally a 525it, inline 6 haha.

dont know about 16k... 12 is fair game.

yep, no need for the v8 booster setup. The s38 has the firewall booster like the i6 tourings. As stated above though, youll be zapping various m5 engine bay brackets into the bay of the touring, which is not complicated.

The Force is strong with you, young one. Good call. The base car is worth ~$5k in perfect condition, an S38 is similar money, swap for about $2k. I could have built one of these for $10k easy when I first bought my M5, especially considering non-running Tourings can be had for $1-2k.

Again, with the extra heft, I wouldn't want a 3.6. Much rather a V8 or the far more impractical B38.

An s38 swapped touring for 10k is totally doable. That excludes bumpers, seats, mirrors, rear headrests and the rest of the M5 goodies he put on. Nevermind the work and effort needed to do the swap, plus the other random things you do while you're there. For the price, I'd say he is spot on at 16k.

It looks very nice overall, except for the clear front indicators. They always kill the natural aggressivity of the front.

Also, why does a touring model have the swictch for the rear electric sunblind? How much did this all cost? You can still find real M5 E34 tourings at reasonable prices.

EDIT: You can still find an original one for around that figure (getting harder these days).
    There's no replacement for displacement.
