I think that's a different set. These were on Baltimore CL. Definitely E39 spec. Previous owner bought them new from Towson BMW for his 02 540i.
Ok, the set I was talking about was going for $1500 with almost new Michelins, sorry. And they were from E38’s.

Wrecked the fuel pump last night at 1:30am. I suspect the sustained speeds may or may not have contributed to its demise. Allegedly the car stalled at ~120mph (in Mexico) after cruising in the triples for about an hour. Also, I think the 180 mph (indicated) run earlier (in Mexico, allegedly) may not have helped -_-

What's the payoff for a ticket in Mexico?
And fuel pump. How old?
Might just have been time.

Typically, sustained high speed should not impact a typical cars fuel pump as they normally run at 100% all the time with excess unconsumed fuel just being returned to the tank. The M5 has that two speed black relay that gives lower voltage at lower engine speeds, but then bumps it up when engine speed goes up, so it does get more abuse when sustained beatings take place. I forget, but does the relay actually bump the voltage higher than battery with a voltage controller?

Those are in great condition. I love these wheels soooo much. I have a set with polished lips under my desk that I could never let go of, they are CLASSIC! You should post a pic when you've got them on the car.
After seeing the Check Brake Light message intermittently for the last 6 months I changed one of the right rear bulbs.
New battery last week.
ordered $1300 of suspension parts from FCP for my wagon.

Nailed my steering wheel knock. It was the u-joint at the end the lower steering shaft which couples it to the rack. Sadly, the entire lower steering shaft is an assembly and has to be replaced to fix this. Also fixed my A/C compressor whine. Its actually caused by a low Freon charge state.

Cleaned the motor, I got back from visiting family in So Cal and let me tell you. That powersteering leak is angry, after getting it warmed up it was a smoke show..... coming thru my vents. I have all the lines, a "new" steering box, resivor. Money is a bit hard to come by so (especially when you take most of the month off) I'm saving up for a new p/s pump because that awful rebuilt autozone whined since the day I got it. I wish I didn't have to throw that on there but my oem one snapped off while the car was parked....

Wife brings 540 home with gas light on...... no matter how many times i tell her not to run it past 1/4 full. so I'm going to fuel it up @ my favorite "REAL" gas station. and not even out of my drive way, which is a 1/2 mile long, it starts to fuel starve..... sheesh!!.... had to put some lowly lawn mower gas in it from the crappy gas store..... maybe i will take her keys!!

Could make an interesting Arduino project for an EE/software engineers, tap into the level sensor would be easier. But even taping into the canbus and getting a mileage readout out loud

It’s a 50% << Half scale Yak 55. 141” wingspan, 275cc twin 2 stroke, twin sparkplugs per cylinder, 27hp, spins a 36-12 to 36-14 two bladed prop, 14 super high torque servos, 6 for the ailerons, 4 for the elevators, 4 for the rudder, and a good fast servo for the throttle. The plane will be around 70 to 75lbs once it’s in the air. Don’t know what I was thinking about when I bought the airframe, the stupid exhaust canisters and the headers alone
were over $900, Right before I Was about to put the money down on the engine, I kinda dropped out of the hobby, right when the FAA started coming out with all these stupid regulations, no thanks to the stupid drone idiots that were flying those stupid things all over the place, over night, the hobby changed, lots of guys got out of the hobby, I just stopped dumping money into it, eventually stopped flying, got into full scale flying, never sold any of my rc planes and helicopters, so I still have them, but I’m gonna have to replace all my lithium ion and lithium polymer batteries, I’m sure they’ve gone bad, definitely not worth risking a 5 to $7,000 toy plane. I might just sell the big Yak, it’s too stupidly huge, if I crash that thing, I’d most probably need about 5 or 6 contractor grade garbage bags, my other 100cc and 150cc planes are big enough. But..... something tweaked my mind today when I pulled it out of the trailer, the wings are at my storage unit, I don’t know..... lol, I’ve flown one of them before, belonged to a buddy, that 275 spinning the prop at 2000 to 2500rpm, the carb sucking in all that air, it howls and the prop tips go supersonic and rip through the air, its one hell of a feeling, the smaller ones are just like that too, but the 275 just has a totally different kind of presence.
