Pulled the seats out in prep for the strip tomorrow(weight reduction, bro).
Than decided that since the bolts for the seats were thrashed, I would clean the holes with a thread chaser. Hole one, fine. But number 2 didn't go so well. Thanks Matco. Oh well, a problem for another day...

Your really into a weight reduction mode. Trying to shave a 1/2 sec off your 1/4 mile time?
Gonna be a PITA job to get that busted part out. Maybe punch it thru?

Just trying to guarantee a 12 second pass as its the last event of the year. Once that's done, I'll be starting to prep for road race. Running the Road Course at fontana on the 2nd, and scheduled to be used as a fitment car for bolt in roll bars. Either a 4 or 6 point that will fit around the interior bits.
And oh man, I don't even wanna think about it Jim. Probably drill it out and weld the base holder into place.

Looks like NO lube of any sort was used with that tap/chaser.
Always lube your tool!

How?
Decided to log into ECS to check the status of my order for the missing items, Shipment says sent but tracking says shipment voided. (Which means it was cancelled.)
The shipping label was created on the 15th and I was told I would have them on the 20th.
Now I have to stay up until 1am Tuesday morning to attempt to catch ECS Live chat and figure out wtf is going on, as I received no email.
Funny one though, one of the items on the order is this link https://www.ecstuning.com/b-shipping...w/specialcare/
Either way, no email telling me what is going on apart from a voided tracking number is pretty f'n terrible after forgetting to add an item to my order.
I HATE having to chase up other peoples stuff ups.
Cheers

I only use ECS for hard to get items, normally orders parts together with friends to make it cheaper. This time no one needed anything so I purchased alone. It was some Braking equipment. They forgot one set of the brembo caliper guide pins for 135i calipers.
I'm "Hoping" it shows up tomorrow, and they just decided to use someone that wasn't fedex thats why it was voided and not updated.
I doubt that though.
Cheers

Edit: Well it showed up just then, shipped in a 7x7x7" box for 4 small caliper bolts. ECS makes no sense but at least I received them.

Pulled the car cover down tight as it is windy and the temps are dropping!

Fold in the side view mirrors, might be good for 0.1 sec.
My Dinan-supercharged 540i has been sitting in the garage for a few months, with the battery kept up by a trickle charger. It needs lots of leaky gaskets replaced (typical of this engine at 100k miles even if it weren't 20 years old), so I've been putting it off. I decided to take it to Springfield (110 miles each way) tomorrow, so today I would check tire pressures, top up fluids, etc... and it wouldn't start at all. Not even a click! (Battery is not dead, all lights come on bright, just no crank, and it had a starter last year when everything would click including the solenoid but the starter would not turn). Anyhow I tried numerous times, pumped the clutch to work the interlock switch, still nothing but dead silence. I figure a sticking relay under the dash.
So just for fun I put Peter Gabriel's "Sledgehammer" on the stereo (stock DSP but with the addition of a Polk Audio 12" subwoofer in a sealed box and a big amp in the trunk), cranked it way up for the first few bars... hit the key and it turned right over Drove it until fully warm, tried starter again, no problem.
I've discovered a new repair technique!

Nice time Setho! I see you have Brians race tires. Did they hook pretty good? I'd love to borrow em for a couple runs! Did you get a weight at the scales? Looks like you pulled a bunch out.
@DOC. Love the sledgehammer repair!

Ordered a new caliper bracket bolt that somehow disappeared and put in a temp bolt so I can still drive. Fixed my external temp sensor too. Tried to fix my speedo but that failed the wiring all seemed fine and seemed to check out and I cleaned the sensor but still didn’t work.
Now I just have to decided am I somehow missing a break in the wire and need to look again or is my new Delphi sensor from FCPeuro to blame and I need to return for an oem dying to fix this.
Also checked all the wiring for my fuel sending unit on the drivers side since my gas gauge is a bit erratic and not exactly stable since installing the new sending unit but not problems in wiring it’s installed just like the old one was could I have somehow screwed it up?
