Great reaction time.
Thanks for the ECS link.
How'd you get a 540i/6 to run such a good time? Lots more power?

Lots of boost.

I've seen the 540i around Fullerton a few times, generally in the area of Raymond/Orangethorpe/State College. It looks mean and sounds bad ass.

No, but I wanted a cleaner look. My worry was the expansion tank rubbing the SC belt. I reinforced the stock shroud so as to not give any flex towards it, and than upgraded my fan to a Spal 16" unit, as well as using a 90°C thermostat. No AC condensor in the way either. Temps didnt see above 200F at the strip today, even with long periods of idle while waiting in line

Thanks for the pics, love that reflective heat insulation. Looks like the same stuff they use on satellites.
New Brake Pads and new Rear Rotors on my E39 Wagon.
Cleaned the ICV on my 528i, and wiped off the varnish from the DISA valve. Noticeable difference after..

Replaced my left and Right Front sway bar links and fuel filter this weekend. The fuel filter is an easy but PITA job. My old one had a 2011 date on it, if that is indeed the date. My new one had a 2016 on it. Next up new radiator and M Tech bumper install.
Also need to diagnose a cluck sound when I initially reverse on my 530i/5. Im running Moblil 1 lsd 75w-90 in the Diff. Any suggestion on where I should begin to diagnose are welcome. It seems like the "fun" never ends with the repair/ diagnosis of these e39s

I've never seen an intercooler setup like that, pretty cool (no pun intended?). You must have a good friend somewhere to pass California emissions with that, haha

Got my money back for the failed/burnout out Meyle FSU that lasted 2 months, fitted a cheap $20 fsu and in testing it before actually putting it back in the heater box it didn't get anywhere near as hot as the Meyle version.
Cheers
Mat
Edit:
So a S/C 540i with W2A and more boost is only putting down high 13.X passes...
And this is why LS swaps are a thing, more economical, powerful & reliable. Damn!

Opinions are welcome. I'm running the base pulley and tune that came with the VF kit, which I purchased second hand, for cheaper than any real LS motor.
A proper comparison would be the VF 540i(rated at 415bhp) versus an M5(rated at 394bhp), and seeing that its doing a good half second faster than a professionally tested brand new M5. My car has 213k miles on it, a base tune that doesn't make full use of add-ons.
