Replaced both front brake calipers and patched together the rear driver's side speed sensor cable. It's the first time in 3 years this car has been roadworthy! Also getting ready to flash the euro tune to it now that the car is historic.
New stat, water pump, belts fitted and system bled
Rear alloys re-balanced as they were making the car shake like it was a concrete mixer... Thankfully it's not the usual 50/60mph 'shimmy' with the arms etc
My car: 2002 E39 540i Sport - Japanese import - the new project!
Ordered new trim for the rear bumper and diffuser. $117. Not bad.

Here's what I have purchased so far: lower ball joints, BMW ball joint removal tool (the Koch version), integral links, sway bar end links, M5 rear sway bar with new poly bushings, and both upper control arms.
I replaced the subframe bushings with solid Meyle HD bushings last year so those should still be fine. The air bags are holding air just fine so no plans to replace those yet. I still need to order Koni Yellows for the rear, once I have those I'll proceed with the rear end overhaul. My plan is to just do it all in one weekend, get everything aligned, and enjoy life.

I got the new wheels and tires set and installed them right away.

Dismounted the winter tires on style 66 wheels and mounted the M-Pars with PSS's for summer. Winter wasn't too harsh this year, but it sure felt long!
Wrapping up my install of the bavsound stage one speakers, and ran the mic for my Grom audio Bluetooth finally since my rear deck is apart. Sucks I can't really finish it up being I'm waiting for a new pass rear window regulator to arrive....I mean...Since I'm in there and all....And sourcing new door seals.

Clay bared the touring, wow, what a difference in the way the paint feels. Need to do this on the wifes e91 now. As soon as this damn pollen leaves, time for a nice clean up and wax...
Installed an eibach rear sway bar into the 540 and replaced the oil filter housing rubber bracket.
540 vs eibach:
Super easy install and highly recommended. Wish I pulled out my 530 sway bar from storage to compare all 3, oh well.

Fixed my seat twist. Was a pleasant surprise to see the cables already repaired. Looked like who ever did the repair just didn't level the seat bottom and back before putting it back together. First job on this car that took no money for parts and actually paid me. Found 1.23 in change lol

I did the repair and didn't level it out enough. It's fine when you're sitting in it, but the back seat passengers usually say "WTF?". Also tripped my SRS light, but BMW will probably fix that or me when I bring it in for the Sport Airbag recall.
Is there an easy way to twist them back into the proper position? Just unplug the cable and force it back in?

I just pulled the seat out and took one cable out of the front motor and let it hang out the front and set the seat back in the car and spun the center of the cable with pliers till it looked level. Then pulled it back out and put the cable back in and removed one from the other motor and repeated the process above to straighten the back. It wasn't as bad a job as the videos I watched led it to be. Just time consuming. Start to finish took me two hours.
