It's in there ^^^ and really hard to find. You can click on the blue links on the right side of the page and then you have to click on the tabs at the top of the page (labeled: code, issues, wiki, etc.)

I'm in close contact (as in, we text daily, lol) with Ryan of E39Source, and he's been the primary beta tester for all this I think. A close friend of ours is using the BlueBus in an E46, so I'm sure some feedback will come from him that is more relevant for the MID.

If you have any specific questions about it, I can definitely pass them along.
I think when I googled E39 BlueBus installation, I ran across a thread that you were in with some helpful information.
BTW, you do have to type in E39. If you just type in BlueBus, you get a lot of hits for little blue pills and other similar "information". Lol

Thanks! Just after I posted, Ted emailed me back with the same link.

He said I likely had one of the earlier shipped examples that had a version of the firmware that wasn't compatible with the MID. I needed to flash the new version of the firmware. I just did, and now the Bluebus works fine.

One issue I ran into: Ted's firmware upgrade tool has compatibility issues with some versions of MacOS. It would crash my laptop running Mojave 10.14.6. I upgraded to Catalina 10.15.4 and was able to get it to work fine.

Just scanning this thread now - I am wondering if the Grom Audio BT3 kit (or similar) is popular over there (I'm in Ireland) - It was recommended to me on another forum and I recently installed it, works a treat

I just pulled the MediaBridge system out of my M5. What a pain. The BlueBus is simpler and way better sounding. 5190AAEE-0C0C-4F64-AA44-BCC1ABFD4F46.jpeg

Pulled off the fuel door on my 528 to resolve the reason it will not open and stay open smoothly. Order new hinge as the stop tab is cracked! Scrubbed the inside and gave everything a coat of wax.
Order new sway bar links for the M5 as it is detailing time to get ready for the BMWCCA concourse

Replaced my coolant tank with an actual BMW tank because warranty or not, I'm getting tired of stuck level sensors and leaking tanks.
Also, removed my BlueBus because it's not responding to commands. Gonna plug it into my computer and see if it needs it's firmware updated.

-took out fuel door locking mechanism as it was jammed and not working-have another one being mailed out from a part out.

-fixed driver side twist (not the back part of seat but bottom part) what a PITA!! while driver seat out-did a little detail cleaning of the carpet and seat...looks so much better.

-replace door trim around driver side with new genuine bmw part.

next up: trunk struts and left front fender well piece that holds ext temp sensor.

Are our cars supposed to have a locking mechanism? Was this an option? I don't have one on mine.

Yes, when you lock the car the fuel door locks. The lock assy is just above the battery.

Today I finally wore out these awful akebono euro ceramic brake pads. I absolutely hate how weak the bite is. I do 80% backroad driving due to my location and you really gotta hammer on them to panic stop for deer, possums, drunk rednecks, and other cool things. Just ordered some stoptech pads because I dont care about dust or noise I just want stopping power. The suspension part hoarding now consists of front tension struts, already did every sway bar endlink with upgraded meyle ones, already rebuilt the entire steering system (for some reason it's off center but I lined my mark up perfectly on the steering box, maybe the alignment shop messed it up), the other various control arms are TBD, new front wheel bearings already installed, not touching the backs till they have so much friction they light on fire, and I'm torn between slotted rotors for that curb appeal or blanks because I dont like changing brake pads sooner than my oil. Driveshaft cv joint has more play then my steering box so that's fun, on the list. Diff bushings in the mail and I wanted to off myself when I did my e46 subframe and don't really want to do the 540's but I might.

Jeeeeee Zuz.......... Ok, I'm gunna let you in on the big E39 secret..... The access into M5 bliss, the roundel on your steering wheel, after you lovingly lick it, you have to do it with feeling, you then have to flip the drivers sun visor down three times, rip a fart, turn the key and start it, your car is now a real deal bonafide M5, enjoy....

I've only used an impact gun. You can try a strap wrench on the pulley and a socket on the nut.
Give it a good quick hard whack. With the impact gun just one quick pull of the trigger and it's off.

Jason, if you don’t have an impact gun, take it to a shop, get one of the techs to bust it loose for you, if you want to, give him some beer money.
