Sorry to see lip on BMW.
Pulled the transmission apart to find out what the interesting noises it's making is. Found a couple bearrings that failed. I guess 860lb/ft of torque at the wheels will do that from time to time...
Was expecting another dyno graph; one that shows it stretching all the way to the moon .... unlimited magnetofluxcapacitorwheeltorquehorsepower ;^)
What did I do today you ask? Fail an emissions test yay! Guess we're going to be looking over the secondary air system tonight. Haven't gotten around to doing more than an OBDII scan but my first guess is the solenoid or whatever it is that goes directly on the exhaust is stuck, and I am praying that is isn't the pump itself. Does anyone know the part number for the valve/solenoid/whatever that gets stuck off the top of their head?

Replaced original radiator and expansion tank on my 2001 540i today. Ordered parts from Fcpeuro, $250 for all and a gallon of antifreeze. Cleaned the bottom of the engine with scrubbing bubbles while I had everything out. Must've been 2 pounds of dead bugs in there. Surprised to see a second radiator behind the auxiliary fan, considering mine is a stick. Very easy job with the diy instructions out there. Did it in my driveway which has a decent incline, made bleeding a breeze, actually had to siphon out some after doing a test run.
Had to see it to believe it. Paid $155 for the behr oem radiator while the BMW OE logo model was over $300. Sure enough, identical to original radiator, but they sanded off the BMW LOGO. lol.

Two days ago I put a full tank of 100% gasoline (non-ethanol and about 3-4 miles away from me) in the M5. Hoping to see if it improves my gas mileage. I've been averaging around 17-18 mpg. The E10-15 93 octane here is somewhere about $2.5xx +/- while the pure gasoline was about $3.xx. It will be interesting to see if it is any worth spending on that gasoline at that price.
Yesterday I replaced the thrust arms with the help of my son. Not too bad of a job but boy, sure wish I had a lift. Paid about $100 each for Lemforder brand at FCP Euro. A few years ago while at the dealer they quoted me $900 to do this job. Also found the missing windshield washer reservoir cap when removing the belly pan.

Replaced air filters (engine and cabin) and wiper blades. But I have brake hoses, pads, rotors, parking brake shoes, and some other fun stuff (UUC SSK and DSSR) on the docket. Stay tuned...
Just little stuff. Wiper nozzle hoses had shattered, so replaced that. I started getting the "check brake lights" warning Thursday, so changed the third brake light bulb -the one that was out- and no dice. Wiggled the bulb around and it worked. And the gas cap. Also installed the silve gauge rings this afternoon.

Replaced cabin air filters. Was also going to replace my engine air filter but somehow I ordered the wrong one!
Grrr. Pre-facelift take the C26 151. I have in my hand a C25 114. Humbug.
If anyone needs a C25 114, it's yours for the cost of shipping. Shoot me a PM. lol
Edit: also adjusted my fog aim and replaced a burned-out fog bulb with some crappy H7 that came with my new headlight cases. win.
