aluminum coolant pipes would be nice but i'd be worried about lack of flexibility while driving and during service
Looking for an e39 Touring black carpet set, including the rear cargo cubbies and side sections!
ALSO looking for 540i 6speed manual transmission sets (2001+ pedals with switches, driveshaft, gearbox), for the 6speed swap! Probably not for a while....

White wagon still no run. Battery is dead from sitting and allll the cranking. I rented the Autozone fuel pressure gauge and got a big Zero on the gauge but the battery was dead. Charging battery and will check again. Leaning towards a bad fuel pump.
Has quarter tank of gas,no run. I throw about seven gallons in and car starts. WTF ? I have ran the gauge to near zero before . Oh well it runs.

Replaced a vacuum line from the f-connector on intake boot to the FPR. Hopefully this resolves my CEL codes.

Rot is a bit of a misnomer in this case, but the plastic goes soft and then a component in it goes brown, so it looks as if it's rotting and feels that way too. I'm guessing that's damage and plastic degradation after many heat cycles.

I bought samples for the brushed aluminum vs brushed steel. I felt the same way about the aluminum.

The steel is a nice darker shade of grey.

Aluminum quick connects + rubber hose would be nice. That's the only way you could do it. Aluminum radiator (like the one from RK Autowerks), custom aluminum quick connect hoses, an aluminum thermostat housing, and the Stewart water pump should pretty much solve the E39's cooling troubles. The auxiliary water pump/heater hoses aren't under as much stress, and the expansion tank rarely fails if kept at the proper level and the coolant is changed regularly.

You can also get the lower temperature thermostat. That takes a lot of the stress off the cooling system which translates to a much longer-lasting cooling system. Look at the E39 M5— it rarely has cooling system issues even though most of the components are built in a similar way. That's because it runs at a much lower temperature than a 530i/540i.

    Thanks, brother! And likewise!

Looks like there's a very good chance I can make it, then, given the date.

Will PM you in advance if so.

Ah, yes. The 525/528/530 can be lowered with software (MS42/MS43 tuning via MS43wiki.com), V8s with the diesel thermostat.

Black? Nah I used to have all black mufflers (body and tips), but am over it. The bodies show becuase I purposely wanted them to fill in the entire opening in the valence, hence why they sit lower than most others'. And they're symmetrical, the lazy eye dude reference doesn't hold; see the other posted picture It's the lighting in this photo and the fact that the muffler on the left has taken on a dullness to it for some reason that's making you think that they're misaligned lol.

Believe me, there are very few people on this forum who are as meticulous with their car's features and details as I am.

All of that said, yes, the mufflers will be getting a complete adjustment (upward) so that I can fit the rear Hamann spoiler snuggly onto the rear bumper. And soon.
