New Silvers NeoMax Coilovers installed to replace the BCs. These ride amazingly well, and the quality is superb!
Also test fitted my new Enkei Nt03s. Cant wait to get some rubber on them.

Let us know how those ride. What spring rates did you get? Bearings on tops?
98 540i 6, 525 whp, 120 mph 1/4, V3 Si S/C'er @16 psi, W/A I/C, Water/Meth, Supersprint Headers, HJS Cats, 3" Custom Exhaust, UUC Twin Disc, Wavetrac LSD, GC Coil Overs, Monoball TA, AEM FP, Aeromotive FPR, AEM Failsafe AFR/Boost, Style 65's w/275's, M5 Steering Box, Eibach Sways, M3 Shifter, Evans Coolant, 85 Deg Stat, PWM Fan, 10" Subs, B.A. speakers, Grom Aux/BT, Still Rolling as my DD!
The build quality itself feels far superior to the BCs. The Silvers rep that i was in contact with was very helpful, service was very fast and they just feel much better on the road. Ive owned 2 sets of BCs and just wasn't as impressed with them as much as i would have hoped. I rode in my buddy's Drift E36 back in December and was impressed with the feel and decided to go this route.

What's your opinion guys, I talked today with the previous owner of the car, and asked him about the chains and guides, what was done, as he didn't have receipt for the job. What do you think, should I take it to the shop, that they open the left side and check everything?
Here is what previous owner said.
"
Hi! Almost everything was changed. Right camshaft chain tensioner, the tensioner for the long chain, all 3 guides, all 3 chains, the oil separator plastic thingy and most of the o-rings and gaskets. So I think the left camshaft tensioner is original and vanos seals were not done also. Should have done those too, but was too naive I guess at that time.

The car isn't slammed or anything like that. I have to keep a little bit of height to clear my abusive driveway.
For now I'm playing with the spring rates to see what works best for me on the racetrack. Have no complaints so far though!

thanks sc4...its been a journey, bought car a month and a half ago dirt cheap, spent a month prior searching forums... spent a month after posting ,and searching... turned wrenches, learned computer "BMW" speak, spent time and money to get it to this point, i must say, without this community, i would have been lost. not to mention the cost of paying a dealer or indy shop... so all said i'm in around 1800 dollars spent. not too bad in my mind... of course that is minus my labor and forum time... but it is my hobby and i do find "relaxation" in this... again thanks to all...... she is no longer the submariner

Nice, titanium silver sure is a popular colour.
I wish I had a bead breaker / tyre changer machine like that. Plus a wheel balance machine. Then I'd only ever have to visit a tyre place for an alignment.
Meanwhile I found out why the OBC button was unresponsive. The other wire was just about kaput too. Never soldered wire this small before, so took longer than usual.
All working now, but high beams stuck on? Might go back in there and clean the related contact points.

Nice man, congrats on being driving.
Ha. Those things literally need just to be barely-even-snug. Its a socketed-O-ring seal and depends almost negligibly on being torqued... but... Sometimes you can't convince your wrist of that fact before the damage is done!

replaced the cooling system. Took doing it slowly for 2 days, bled it properly, big thing to have crossed off the list, whoot!
Fixed my high beam stuck on issue. Seems I didn't reassembly the indicator stalk correctly. Have to be sure to line up the different sliders for the various functions. I also bent the connectors for the high beam slightly outwards as per an old thread on stalk disassembly.
I had bought m sport door trims ages ago only to find the plastic not quite the same as what came on my car. So instead of painting all the trims to match, I simply cut a hole on mine where there is a hole on the m sport badge versions. Same part number on plain plastic vs m sport, so that's weird. Also had to use plastic polish as the badges were faded and scratched. Turned out okay I think, though perhaps a bit more of a complex way to achieve the look.
