With the cover on it makes the car look like an E36 underneath it.

There's one more thing that tells it is not a facelift E39, the 20 pin Pacman barrel in the engine bay. Looks good Danny! What did you have to do to get the Cellis working properly? I can't remember the routine.

Oh yeah, I totally forgot about that! Can't do much about that unless I swap in a newer wiring harness/DME.

Honestly I haven't done anything special for the taillights yet. They worked just by plugging them in. Occasionally the Celis LEDs flicker upon startup and I get a "check rear lights" message on the cluster. All the lights work fine though. I just need to swap in the newer LCM from my 01 parts car and code it, but I figured I'd install the taillights anyways.

Yea. They worked out of the box with my old LCM as well. However, they do flicker which probably isn't great for the LEDs. You'll want to plug in the new one and code it soon.

Yeah, I plan to do that at some point later next week. I have to go get my coding laptop back from a friend that's borrowing it.

I wonder if wiring in load resistors will do away with your check message and occasional flicker?

The flicker is from the LCM running a test on the circuit. The pulse is too quick for an incandescent bulb to react, but the LEDs pick it up. So while load resistors will remove the error message, they'll still flicker.
You can code out the check though.

Good to know. I have the codes shut off for Low beam checks. The 528i came with halogens.

You'll want to turn off both the warm & cold lamp checks.

I like it on the rear, but Amber will always be superior up front.

    Finally got the 5 back.
New belt, tensioner, and a new pulley (PS I believe), new catalytic off the header, new alternator, new positive battery terminal cable and new tire.
Should be doing oil and sensor cleanup, oil change and a wash.
    Life is...better.

Hey guys, sorry it took so long for me to take more pictures. Matter of me being lazy and having rainy days here in NY.

Also put in the e60 545i short shifter, CDV delete and flushed my tranny with some RP.

New lenses. I was just surprised that despite the damage, there was ZERO housing defects.

Got the 540i in place to start the winter-prep overhaul that involves a lot of anticipating rust under the car with the splash guards off - special Eastwood spray in the frame elements, Plasti-kote rust converter where needed (highly recommend this for surface rust), and a coating of por-15 on exposed areas.

I just finished the 530xi (E60) and even took car of the steering knuckles, took off the front stabilizer (anti-sway) bar and the metal brackets, etc etc... Will be doing the same to the 540i since I'm getting the style 5's refinished and Nokian Hakka-s put on for this coming season (promises to be a snow-filled one, IMHO).

Showed up to the dealer to get a new airbag. They washed my car, hasn't had one in nearly a year. Not a very good job, but better than nothing. The tech working on it had a clone of mine save for the wheels.

Fixed my window reg rattle again with double sided tape, rubber fell out of place.

Took off the splash guards under the 540i, along with the 4 jack points and the brackets for the sway bars. Getting it ready for "10 year winter prep" stuff. Every plastic rivet that I took out of the rear half of the RHS rocker panel let out a stream of water. Looks like I'll be taking off the door cards in the rear and messing about there, as well.

    Locked my keys inside it...
Fortunately my house was a short taxi ride away and proved easier to break into than my BMW, where I retrieved my spare set of keys...
