I just looked at the Ebay ad and noticed that shipping would take much longer if I ordered through them. Calling them directly, they emailed me a shipping label for Fedex within an hour, and I shipped it out that day, which was Friday the 17th. It arrived on Monday the 20th, was repaired, and was shipped back to me the next day (Tuesday) and I have it back in my car on Thursday, six days from my first contact with them. Through Ebay I'd probably be waiting another couple weeks.
While I enjoy a sweet deal as much as the next guy, I'd rather pay a bit more and get the job completed quickly.

I cooked mine for 10 min at 200F and they started to come apart, but they cooled off before I could get it done, so I used a heat gun to help out

No kidding, I drove an Old Cutlass 4 door behemoth that was rusted through and had a rattle can paint job (baby blue) and purchase for $450 with 105,000 miles. For you kiddos, getting a GM to go over 100,000 miles in those days was close to a miracle.

I tried also to heat them up on my 530d, but the housing started to melt, but the glue didn't even budge

Little update on my leaky trunk. Tested the sunroof drains and all are working correctly and drain very fast. So I dont think my leak is coming from them. In fact (someone please correct me if I am wrong) I dont think the lines ever enter the trunk. I had thought they went behind the foam in the trunk but after peeling the foam back I see no lines. Going to line the trunk with paper towels and take it for a wash to see where the leak is coming from. I guess the foam in the trunk got wet by the water evaporating and it just adsorbing it.

Now my guess is the rear lights or the seals on the rear window. It's just strange how I see no sings of corrosion and my rear deck is clean with no water stains.

And the car thanked me by throwing a P0440 code today. Had this code a couple months ago, reset the gas cap and it did not come back. Maybe I'll get a new gas cap and see if that fixes it.

Driver side of M5 rep bumper from Latvia, pretty much right on...

And the passenger side is only slightly off, but not noticable to the casual person from a few feet away...
    Wow !
    Nicely done !
My first car was 1978 Toyota Corolla that I bought for $600.

Probably the rear light housing gasket.

Just replaced aftermarket taillights with OE LED taillights, much better, however, the connector has 6 pins but there are only 5 wires go to taillight per side, what is missing is pin #2 on driver side and pin #5 on the passenger side, both for tail fog lights, is that normal that US spec has no tail fog lights? 2002 540i is the car. I have to buy connectors separately and some wires from Home Depot, some small connectors for audio from Advance Auto and stripped plastic insulation to fit in the connection pin holes but it works well.

Other items on to do list this long weekend are:
    1. 2nd drain and fill transmission fluid, I did first drain and replaced filter, pan gasket last Sunday.
    2. Bleeding ABS to get rid of trifecta lights, ABS pressure line error is the only ABS error, if trifecta lights are still on after ABS bleeding then it is time to send ABS control module to rebuild
    3. Get eBay key programmed, I bought AK90+ kit, got key cut yesterday
    4. Right side headlight angel light is not on, LED light bulb is find, need to take a look
    5. Replace headlight auto level adjusters and polish headlights

That would be the rear fog lamp that the US market did not receive.

Installed Koni active struts up front and shockes in the rear since the bilsteins were blown in the front. Now to get it aligned and start carving corners again.

You can buy the Euro headlight switch that has a position on the switch to turn on the rear fogs, still need to pull a wire from the switch to the tail lights.

    Updates:
    1. 2nd transmission fluid drain and fill down
    2. ABS bled, still has pressure line code 51, cannot be cleared, so I guess ABS control module is bad after all, need to send out for re-build
    3. Spent 45 minutes to get EWS removed, got 2 keys programmed with AK90+ and have them initialized, original key also was re-initialized, now all 3 keys are working, total money spent on keys $20 for 2 key fobs, $40 for AK+90 device, $50 for cutting 2 blades, $110 for 2 new keys!

Replaced all 8 sparkplugs on my project car and the #7 ignition coil. Also cleaned what looked like a quart (ok, probably a few tablespoons) of oil from the spark plug wells. Cylinders 1-4 had Bremi coils and cylinders 5-8 had Bosch coils. Now cylinder 7 has a Bremi coil.
A note on the Bremi coils. I keep hearing people mention that the new Bremi coils don't fit properly. I've been ordering Bremi coils to replaced failed coils for several years now and they have all fit and worked perfectly. Since I replace (and order) a new coil every year or so, they surely have had differen't manufacture dates but they all fit just fine.

Forgot to mention. I replaced the hood hold open struts on my project car. It's an amazing differance. Now I pull the hood release, lift the hood about 1 foot and it opens itself the rest of the way up.
