Hence the quotations. Much like the DINAN M62TU "Intake upgrade" being a non vanos intake. The bump stops are BMW Non-Sport bump stops.
Size wise they are the same as my MtechII ones, but the difference is the "DINAN"/BMW ones have a small section that allows for more give and softer impact.
I ofcourse didn't buy the dinan ones... just used internet knowledge and got the OEM P/Ns.

Thinking of getting 80°C thermostat, I don't like that the car is running at 105°C
Also managed to get rid of the squeaky drivers door, tried everything in there, WD40, PTFE spray, Wheel bearing grease, but what worked was Vaseline spray, so happy no more growning doors.

and sadly no old BMW anymore, only high powered Seat Leon Cupra 4Drive as a daily driver.
I made two minor updates to my 530i/5:
1. I Installed the weighted 5-speed ZHP shift knob.
I'm really happy with how it looks and feels, and won't bother with a full short shift kit (which was my original plan).
2. I installed new, un-painted aftermarket side rub strips on the doors and fenders.
When I put M-sport front and rear bumpers on my car, I opted to leave the front and rear rub strips unpainted for the OEM look. But this meant they didn't match the side rub strips, which on facelift cars like mine are painted in the body color. My car is black anyway, so the difference was hardly noticeable. But the perfectionist in me wanted to back-date the side strips to non-painted. I bought an aftermarket strip set from eBay for around $70 and I'm very happy with the look.
Looks good! I've always preferred the black unpainted side strip look to the painted look. I always buy prefacelift E39's so I always get the black unpainted trims by default, haha

Thanks! Yes, I actually prefer the pre-facelift, unpainted-strip look too.
Another scandalous opinion - I even prefer the look of pre-facelift headlights (although I would never go as far as to swap my facelift units out).

I actually prefer the look of the pre-facelift grills. For some reason the post-facelift grills remind me of big lips.

If you put cheap parts on your car, you will soon have a cheap parts car.
Replaced the side rubber bits each side of my windshield cowl because the old ones were falling to bits..
Have a new cowl and am going to pull the arms and clean it up proper, seal any cracks around the (new-ish) windshield, and install the new cowl and reinstall these new rubber end pieces. Should help with water management up front...

Today I received, via Fedex, my repaired ABS module from BBA Reman. Reinstalled it in the car and so far (knocks wood) the trifecta lights have disappeared. Also, the check engine light (P0500) went out after four engine starts. Feels good to not see yellow warning lights anymore.

Over the last few weeks...
1. Replaced rear bumper with OE M Sport bumper I found at JY and had repainted
1a. Had rear diffuser vinyl wrapped in black carbon
2. Replaced exhaust with 19" glass pack resonator and 14" Magnaflow muffler
3. Gave up on constantly trying to polish lights so got new plastic light covers with silver instead of orange reflectors
4. Replaced OE Angel Eye bulbs with LED lights
5. Replaced front bumper with M5 rep from Latvia (actually fits very well)
6. Installed rep Hamm front lip, also had it vinyl wrapped in black carbon
7. Replaced rear 8x17 wheels with 9x17 and 255 wide tires.
8. Washed and waxed, used Meguir's Ultimate wax. This stuff is amazing, I highly recommend it. Hides swirls, even slight scratches on my silver car, and on dark colors is unbelievable.
This is actually my son's car and its ready for the high school car show tomorrow
And the car thanked me by throwing a P0440 code today. Had this code a couple months ago, reset the gas cap and it did not come back. Maybe I'll get a new gas cap and see if that fixes it.
Driver side of M5 rep bumper from Latvia, pretty much right on...
And the passenger side is only slightly off, but not noticable to the casual person from a few feet away...
