Serious dough then! (Some rep tid bits are the aspherical line and a very mild black boarder around the glass) OEMs in the US usually had dimming which had a slightly protruding / thick lens boarder.

I’m 99% sure they’re knock offs but will definitely post pics of my mirror rebuild.

Got the other side done. Waiting for it to dry on the tailgate and rear bumper now.

Found my rear carpets were wet after a wash, I swear about every month this car likes to chip away at my bank account. Starting to get tired of the constant failure left and right.

I have a new pair on order for both rears. It's not that it's difficult to maintain these cars, it's just the annoying little things that get to ya sometimes. Especially if their back to back constantly.

You don’t need to replace the vapor barriers; just re-adhere them

Yeah, but they may be banged up from prior owner hack jobs too. Pull the card and check, takes 2 mins!

I pulled Mine apart to look at the shades. Everything was a little beat up. I had to use some JB Weld to reform part of the card. The PO had done a crappy job trying to fix the shades. I just pulled the shades out but restructure part of the hardware as they are part of rigidity to the door card. Wasn't too bad once I figured it out.

After timing chain guide job is done and crank no start issue is fixed, I brought the car for state inspection, I just replaced front passenger side sway bar link due to the ball joint booth was torn and thought all suspension components are tight, well, the car passed emission but failed safety inspection, ball joints failed on front passenger side lower control arm (curved one) and both rear upper forward control arm links, all those failed components were replaced 2.5 years ago, anyhow, need to replace them again. PA has very strict vehicle emission and safety inspection so any suspension components, wheels, brakes, lights, wipers, windshield spray nozzles could cause the inspection to fail.

That is an excellent and accurate statement. It would make a good "signature".

Last night after I changed my oil, I hooked the shop scanner up to the car, my key’s range was getting weak, thought like it was the battery getting week or something. So I went to coding, re-codex the EWS, and re-aligned the DME with it, now my range is good again, just like new. So that’s cool and all, but why did that happen at all? Not too keen on the coding bit. I wasn’t using INPA, or the other usual software that everyone uses, I was using an Autel scanner that our shop has. My SnapOn SOLUS is on the fritz so I have not been able to use that for a little while. I was surprised to see that the shop scanner had coding ability.

Yeah and I definitely relate. Have on my list: folding mirror repair, drivers side regulator has a screw loose so it rattles and scratches the glass, so I’m going to R/R the door and swap out the window.... and passenger front vapor barrier likely needs some attention.

Had to do it, but was lazy, the Mityvac is the perfect thing for those moments of laziness. Next oil change in 7500 miles will get the drain plug pulled at the bottom for a particle check.

A friend of mine has been having key range issues, hmm. Maybe that will fix it. Odd.

Quarter car washed the winter beater. Installed the snow tires and pilfered the wipers of my stored Japan Red touring so I can see again.

Quick oil change on the beast and sad realization that Lemforder thrust arm bushings took a dump after just 12k miles.

I feel your pain, my Lemforder bushings only lasted 7 months and 1500 miles, I'm wondering if they are knockoffs?
I ordered real BMW bushings this time, they came yesterday.

I don't think they are knockoffs, I did the rest of the suspension with their parts and that's holding up fine. It just seems that Lemforder has issues specifically with these bushings as there are many people who reported the same failure after few thousand miles. There's a thread on M5board.

You'll like get the same parts but I'm curious. Post some pics when you get them. Someone mentioned to use X5 bushings pressed into Lemforder arms.
I ordered TRW control arms now, I have them on my E38 and E31 so we'll see how long they last. Not looking forward to doing this again and alignment after.

Lovely. They really burst open. I really hope Lemforder those something about this since they are getting many warranty claims now.

Idiots.... you would think that they would be stringent on quality control, dubbing the work out to China. Monoball time on my next suspension bits.
