I’ll post some more detailed pictures soon.

Selling the E92 to save money on insurance as I’m 26 and I’m trying to save money to buy a house. My girlfriend and I recently bought a condo and we just are looking to get a house soon. The E39 is also more my style honestly. More room, more doors, and looks better in my opinion. Also the 335i is just too fast to be constantly stuck behind Priuses and going 35 mph all the time. More fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow; that old slogan.

The owner before me just put on Koni sports, new bushings all around, a new radiator, and a new water pump. The car came with nice 19s with new continental all seasons but I might try and get some stock BMW 17s or M Parallels instead. Looking for a more comfortable ride. Loving it so far!

Honestly no. The guy owned it since 2001 so it's been pretty well taken care of. And a BMW not leaking oil at all? Is that a thing?

Also, even if the engine blows soon, an M52 can be had cheap, and then that's a perfect time for a manual swap. Not too worried.

Nice ride. I have a set of Style 32 17” staggered rims mounted on new Conti DWS06 that I took off my touring. The wheels were recently powdercoated. PM me if you’re interested.

Haha oh. It does have a valve cover leak. The engine bay is tight on that thing man. DIY is not nearly as enjoyable as an E39.

Hit the scrap yard for random parts yesterday. Finally got windshield washer nozzles since my fell apart. New drivers mirror glass since my heater was burned out. New hood latch so I dont have to carry my mini screw driver.

But my biggest mistake was not understanding what was required to facelift my taillights and grabbing a pretty much perfect set of OEM tails. So, unless I figure out a way to use them that no post on google has told me about yet I better hope LKQ will let me return them.

The new taillights with CELIS, like the 01-03 cars? You’ll need to bash the rear light buckets, pray they don’t leak, and upgrade the LCM from LCM II to III or IV.

Here’s an article detailing the steps. https://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e3...lasts-diy.html

Where do you need to bash it? I can't find it in the bavarian autosport or Hella guide, is it different for EU and US cars?
The only thing I can find is filing one place and drilling two new holes underneath the old bolt holes

Replaced engine mounts and tranny mounts, engine mounts was a easy job, took me about 45minutes, tranny mounts was not too bad neither, little more than a hour. However, I think I might break something, now I have exhaust leaks somewhere, coming from driver side, either from the head or from the joints before cat. I need to put the car on ramp and get down there to check where is the leak.

Check Engine light is gone! WOOHOO!

I finally fixed the SAP check engine light. Got a good used pump from the local Pull-A-Part along with a check valve, relay and a couple of 50 Amp fuses. They all look very clean as if they were replaced shortly before the car made it to its final resting place. The blades on my relay were darker in color, as if damaged from heat (maybe?) so I just went ahead and replaced it with the "new" one that looked so much better. I also tested the relay prior to using it. I checked the pump by applying 12v to it and it worked fine, it spins freely and very quietly.

The 50 amp fuse was blown and let me say that unbolting the front passenger seat, lifting the carpet and going under the insulation was not difficult but, REALLY BMW!!! REALLY?! I did not move or mess with the air duct under the seat. After disconnecting the battery I just used a very sharp blade to cleanly cut the foam as one piece to access the junction box. Once done I just put it back and installed everything back.

Now to fix the trifecta that only comes on after the car reaches ~*91

Ah, maybe. The US cars have extra LEDs in them for DOT regulations.

I finally started on my front struts. turns out pep boys may have messed up the convex washer luckily I have new as well. weirdly enough they put the springs on the lower perch turned farther past where it was supposed to be. due to how the spring was on there it was a huge pain to compress and then had to replace where the compressors were after decompressing the spring. Will hopefully finish today. Then have to buy new end links and the washers for the end links since I didnt realize they were important and misplaced them.

Yea found that out for sure couldn't believe it but now I'm putting the suspension back together but waiting on an fcp euro order for the end links and washers.

Side note fcp euro is awesome my only bone to pick is the dang shipping to and from my order was 43 dollars and I needed it in about 2 days my shipping was almost 20 dollars. And if I return anything shipping is a large cost too.

Maybe the should hook up fulfillment through amazon or something to lower the shipping and return cost or maybe even enact a prime like frequent buyer program where you pay a flat fee for a large discount on shipping.

Plastidipped my wheels and grilles. Finished my front struts. Waiting on end links. Replaced my heated mirror glass. Finally fixed my hood latch. Fixed my motor mounts. Lubed up the steering column u joint and started to strip things for my power steering pump. Was a great day and even better finished physical therapy.

Congrats! Sounds like a productive day.

You got plenty of layers of Plastidip on, right? I applied it too thin and it was an absolute disaster to remove.

I like the Meyle HD end links. The self locking nut is a nice touch, and the boots are tough.

You've replaced the exterior temp sensor, right? When the exterior temp sensor is missing, the defrosters run at full blast all the time, which causes the glue in the mirror glass to fail, which allows moisture in, which results in the nasty bubbles.

I have an intermittent hot stalling, after overrun issue right now that I'm trying to diagnose, but with new motor mounts I will sometimes find the engine has stalled and I haven't noticed, which is weird.

Power steering pump is a fun one. So greasy down there.

It was just enough coffee. 5 layers of plastidip I made sure to do it right because when I plastidipped my challenger I learned my lesson. I just have rain end links from fcp euro the important part is I have the new end link washers since I misplaced mine.

I did fix the exterior temp sensor a while ago and everything worked as designed up until the drivers mirror went out.

What do you mean after over run on your hot stall issue? Could it have anything to do with coils I know with most American vehicles here in the Florida heat when the coil packs get old they misfire, stall etc.

Yea I find a little brake clean gets the area pretty prepped for me to be in there.

After I posted I went and set up a virtual machine for easy dis v44 and gt1 from the coding forum here so that was great now I just have to test it on the car and search to find out if it can code vin and mileage on the lcm or if I'll need PA Soft as well.

When I put the clutch in when coasting to a stop - after overrun - the car stalls, but only when the engine is fully warmed up. There are no codes stored or set, so it could be the lightweight flywheel or something. The coils are original (every one of them), but that should set a code if they're misfiring. Car feels completely fine otherwise.

From what I remember, you can use PASoft to zero out the mileage on the modules, and then DIS/GT1 to initialize what it thinks is a "new" module.
