Grr. 2hrs out in the rain yesterday, had to get creative to get the low-pro jack under either end of my slumped 540. Went to adjust the H&R coilovers and the lower perches are all totally seized up Made an appt for Tuesday for my indy to take a crack at it - want it up 1" and realigned.
Oh. new 900cca battery the other day at O'Reilly's

What's your strategy for jacking it? I've been jacking it up at the jack points, but then where do I put the jack stands? The rear subframe is a decent spot, but in the front?
Also, does anyone else have issues putting theirs on a lift? I'm ~.05-1" too low for my neighbors lift. Drive up on sections of 2x10s?
If your e30 runs bad, switch to Megasquirt first. Then try new spark plugs, cap and rotor, wires, oxygen sensor, crank shaft position sensor, coolant temp sensor, air flow meter, idle control valve, throttle position sensor, digital motor electronics unit, harmonic balancer, fuel injectors, engine harness...
I rolled up onto the shallow sidewalk and bought enough clearance to get the pittsburgh 3ton under the front center X just rear of the oil pan. Then the diff in back, yeah. When i jacked up one side the sway bar (i think) kept tension on the jacked-up spring.
Wish the pittsburgh was like 20" longer at 2" high lol
Mine got stuck on the alignment rack at my indy after they seated the front coils all the way in, he had to use some low-pro helper ramps. I've used 2x8s in the past.

Washed it inside and out as well as undercarriage due to heavy salt around WI. It was 59 today!! Wow what a nice day for a change. Also, I fixed the dead pixels on a MID; they are all up and running as they should.
Finally replaced the front bumper!

Lol one of my high school friends did it for me so idk how to take it off. It's like super glued :/
However the M badge is pretty cool at night since it glows and lights up. Look it up on Amazon. I hooked the wiring into the ECU so it's always on and you can see it glow at night! Pretty cool

6 spd swap, M5 diff, M5 steering box, B&G springs, G.A.S. Monoballs, M5 rear chasis braces, Eibach rear swaybar, EBC red brk pads, EBC slotted rear rotors,
StopTech frt rotors, StopTech brk hoses, aFe CAI, 4" MAF, M60 Manifold, N62 Throttle Body, DUDMD Stg 2+ w/ SAP & EWS Deletes,
muffler delete w/ Magnaflow tips, 18x8/9 style 69, BMW lip spoiler, Hella G4 projectors, & 1.4 bar coolant cap.
When I get the front up, simple bottle jack at the front point, put a stand at the rear point. Then I take a risk and crawl under to place my other stand under the front subframe.
If you want all 4 wheels up, low profile jack it up, and then get something under the rear diff and front subframe (with floor jacks obviously) and then put stands on the jack points after you've removed the first two jacks that you used to let the floor jacks in.

With the weather around 60 degrees again today, I did a real thorough power wash at home. It looks great and was nice to get the salt off, but still not ready for the summer wheels/tires.
Swapped out the oldish Behr rad that had cracked in 6 years from their production date on it with a new one. Hopefully this one lasts a little longer with the G.a.s. low pressure cap
Washed, clayed, and waxed the e39 today.

Me Too!
Bug and shop are not mine. I'm borrowing the shop from a lady we go to church with. Her husband passed so she doesn't use it.
The lift would be worth every penny to buy if you DIY.
I'm also glad to get to use a shop like this - both because it's super nice, but also since I want to build one I'm learning some things about how I'd like to set it up.
Can't find the 'what did you purchase for your E39?' thread but I just ordered some stuff from Chemical guys. Have been watching a couple of their videos and am thinking this following list should definitely work.
- Clay Kit 2 - Clay bar and synthetic lubricant (Medium duty)
- VSS Swirl and Scratch Remover
- Jet Sealant and Paint Protection
- 3 6.5" Hex Buffing pad kit (Orange, White, Black)
- V38 Optical Grade Final Polish
All for around $120 + free shipping. From eBay I ordered a 6" Variable Speed Dual action Orbital polisher for around $54 + free shipping. Got tired of seeing worn, flat, tired looking paint on the M5 and decided it was enough and time to buff and polish this beast once and for all. I'm hoping that I'll end with up a swirl free, glossy looking, attractive carbon black looking M5.
I have also ordered a new CSB with butyl rubber strip from ECS to replace the old, worn out CSB in the car. I'm getting a lot of vibrations and hopefully I should receive them either today or tomorrow. I've talked to Redshift about using his shop and looks like I'll be able to work on the car this coming weekend.
I believe in a matter of next or the following week after I'm going to have a spring break from college, so that's when I'll finally start working on the headlight upgrades. I've put this one out for quite a long time now. Can't let all the goodies sit in one corner and get engulfed in dust. Got to do this no matter what. I also have to replace the auto level sensor since the arm is broken. The junkyard should have one.

No, I have not. Will check it out, but I just followed what CG were doing in their videos and decided to give this a try. Never did any proper detailing ever before. I only used to wash my cars by hand and clean the interior as well. That was it. This will be my first time doing something like this and I'm looking forward to it.
