*sorry Roy for stealing your thread for a minute

I was seriously a few days away from sourcing some new impact trim, mine looks awful as seen here. The new license delete trim makes the others look bad. Thanks purp for the idea

Well today I decided to jump in and try and fix my broke glove box from last month. Found the Bowden cable in back and pull gently. Glove box door fell open and I removed the 3 screws to find this. Don't you just love the plastic in these cars.

Waiting to find a source for the glove box assembly to fix, I went and re-did my chrome gauge rings.

    Steve PM sent

I am hoping to do this from the DIY write-up on e38.org.

Hopefully with what you have I can get my glove box door back functioning and make sure no one ever uses it again.

One of these days when I downsize my collection of two E30 verts, an E39 and an E36/7 M roadster, I plan to join you guys by picking up a 2001 750iL.

No need to downsize. One can never have enough BMW's.

    Yes if I didn't have a 740 already I would most definitely be in a 750il.

I bet that Roadster is nice. You in the South Suburbs right, lets hook up sometime.

It is very rare and hard to find. It is called a Victor steering wheel. I think they were installed in 750 Individual models.

I will post pics later tonight. It is not heated and a bit different than those I saw on eBay. The wood is at the 3 & 9 positions instead of the 6 & 12 positions I saw. It is a 4 spoke wheel, and based on the numbers inside, it appears to have been an E46 wheel earlier in its life which has undergone some crude surgery to make the airbag fit.

Looking to do this mod with something similar on my boot up splash screen on the navi unit. But it is a complex and intricate task.

Install a new Bosch OEM MAF sensor and Mann Air Filter Today. Tomorrow under the hood circulation filters.

Gave the X5 a break today and drove the 740. Got high octane coffee and high octane (93) Shell gas.

Thnx for the compliment. Yeah I got a few blemishes that I want to fix soon. I'm finding out that getting to perfection is a journey and not a race. But I will get there. lol

Whelp. That does it. I'm doing the black kidneys when I get around to "Shadowlining" my car.

    Looking good!

Playing with the idea of blacking out the inner headlight surround too. Might look cool, might look like poop.

Well fooling around during my lunch break at work with INPA and my car I found a error code.

Funny thing is the car was running hot and the temp gauge stayed in the normal range. Also no Check Engine Light. Oh well guess I need to buy a thermostat this weekend.
