LOL. Cool! Clearly a quicky quick with no nav, just the pix and doesn't have the rest of the info... The text info in the WDS is as or more useful than the diagrams sometimes. But going in the right direction! Upsides vs the 'real version' is FAST as crap, and high rez image files, which it was tricky to get the other one to deliver sometimes, hard to zoom in/out etc. Would be great if really could migrate the whole thing over.

Yeah I didn't upload the pictures, just the wiring diagrams and the text. The wiring diagrams are all vector images so theoretically you can scale them infinitely, but they're set by default to not allow you to scale them. On my phone, Safari seems to limit how far you can zoom into the diagram. Getting the pictures to work is simply a matter of uploading them.

    Yeah, well.

I fixed up a few things (they're live on S3) and put the script I used here:

    https://github.com/inferiorhumanorgans/wds-extract

If you've a Linux / Mac machine you should be able to run this against your WDS disk image and get something that you can run locally. Don't run this unless you trust your WDS, however.

    Planet-BMW access

I tried making sense of https://github.com/inferiorhumanorgans/wds-extract, is there another way? I have mac and PC.
In my Windows machine, I also added www.planet-bmw.net to the list of sites, no luck there either.

Not sure if it impacts this particular site, but if it needs the java browser plugin, you are now limited to older browsers. The only current browser that still has NPAPI support is Firefox 52 ESR (extended support release). Some time next year, NPAPI gets removed from that as well. Having all sorts of fun with this at work...

I recently found newtis.info which has WDS and TIS and can be used with modern browsers without java. PS I have no association with this site and am just happy not to have to boot a XP VM to look at wiring diagrams.

    Nice work!

Do yourself a favour and create your own specific thread so that you aren't at all associated with this 'bmw planet dude' guy.

    Cheers, Dennis!

    Lots of ads...but that's ok, it's free!!
Now, on to the app itself...
I just downloaded it & browsed a bit, but this looks REALLY good so far. You've done an excellent job! I'll go ahead & give it top ratings for now.

The github URL is the source to the scripts I used to parse the WDS files. The amazon link a few posts back is the one you should try. Works for me in FF/Chrome.

But it's intended to be mostly a proof of concept and I don't want to deal with bandwidth costs so it'll probably go down in a few days or turn into a viewer-pays for bandwidth thing. I spent more time uploading it than working on it, so...
    Whoa! bookmarked this.
