Got few messages about the fact people can no longer access the BMW Wiring Diagrams from the site.
WDS is getting old and with regular Java/Browser updates it is hard to access old sites
Here you, all you need to do is change your Java security settings. I use the latest version of Firefox and it works just fine. Make sure your Java is up to date too.
Java has blocked WDS...Click ok, then start "Configure Java" from the start menu
Once Configure Java interface is opened, click on the security tab, then click the Edit Site List button. Enter bmw-planet.com and www.bmw-planet.com
Go back to the site, you are now prompted to access the content. Click Run
The diagrams are accessible again.

As I said in PM - I have been using Chrome w the workarounds for ages but as of Sept they laid the hammer down and exceptions are no longer allowed. All my Java security settings are proper etc. For Chrome (and from my attempts... IE too...) users there's not even the choice to hack around and allow it anymore. Unfortunately google pushes updates with no choice to the user so you can't prevent Chrome from being updated or revert to the older version. Giant PITA.
If there's a different workaround I'd love to hear it... can prob go find an old crap computer w/ an old browser on it somewhere but for now we Chromers are locked out...

Try Firefox
Firefox is just fine
Opera too

OK maybe try Opera as it's "lighter" on the install... feels like all 1998 using multiple browsers for different things...

For anyone using Safari on OS X, this has also been locked. No way around that either.
Thanks BMWPlanetDude, I have been trying to get this to work for a while. I'm using chrome and had tried to do something similar before and failed, by following letter for letter in the exception list it woirked. Thanks again dude.
Now BMW-Planet DNS is failing... Looks like domain name expired end of august and there was a grace period until today... ?

Still working for me.
Have a question though - I have done the adding an exception in Java config already - had to do that ages ago to keep these working in fact. Had to go in IE settings and allow unsigned scripts etc etc too. I can access the diagrams fine, but for a long time now the hotlinks in the diagrams dont work. Means I have to manually scroll through the left hand menu if I want to jump to a specific connector/componentm whereas a long time ago the links used to work. Any idea how to get them working again? Maybe using Firefox is the answer?
Cheers,
Tried all of the above, 3 different browsers and it is dead on all 3. No longer working?

Edit, nevermind, Firefox works on the 3rd reboot, lol.
Yeah Opera has stopped working for me. Saw something on innerwebz saying Firefox will stop NPAPI support in 2016 so I think we are on the final countdown unless you keep a computer going with non-updated browser... unfortunately they all auto-update before you can stop them these days unless you think of it in advance... what happened w/ Opera it seems as I didn't think to stop updates...

My Firefox says "a plug-in is needed."
What plug-in do I need?
You need SVG plugin from Adobe. Has been discontinued 10 years ago but as of today, BMW still uses it for some of their apps.

An absolutely invaluable resource, but yes getting JAVA to cooperate can be a pain in the ass.

For those who need newer BMW diagrams, you can use BMW ISTA/D
There is no online version as far as I am aware, but you never know with those Chinese or Russian :-)

OK, your off my s-list for the post I deleted and sort of back in my good graces. It's working, thanks.
Yeah, Java is a pain. I dunno about with the post-2007 catalogs but it's fairly easy to extract the image and stuff from the 2007 version and slap an entirely HTML5 based interface on it. Works nicely on a mobile device too.

It's here:
http://iho-bmw.s3-website-us-west-2....aws.com/e39new
But it's intended to be mostly a proof of concept and I don't want to deal with bandwidth costs so it'll probably go down in a few days or turn into a viewer-pays for bandwidth thing. I spent more time uploading it than working on it, so...
