Had a good trip back from Cambridge and credit to the pervious owner who looked after it well. Does need a couple of little things to sort out but nothing major

Repaired blind
When I got the car the driver side rear 1/4 blind was broken and would retract back. I removed it to find the plastic on the bottom had broken off. Had to re roll it, then put some tension onto the roller then reglue it. Works spot on now
Also upgraded the nav to the mk4 Dvd version with latest firmware and 2015 disc

UPDATE 11/08/15
Odd jobs
Been busy doing the odd tidy up job on the car aswell as replacing the mk2 nav drive with the mk4 dvd nav drive Got the latest update and 2015 maps with speed camera alerts. have noticed the widescreen 16.9 is from a x5 as the viewing angle is wrong will look at finding a replacement from a E38 and sell this one on
Been collecting all the parts for a service, it's going to a Bmw specialist for have the gearbox oil and filter changed. Don't fancy changing the plugs either so will get him to do that along with oil coolant, diff oil, fuel filter and brake fluid.
I have replaced 4 pollen and micro air filters for the air con and also the engine air filters along with two rubber hoses which were fucked
Noticed when viewing a couple of trims needed replacing so swapped these out. I have two more to change on the rear 1/4 which someone on a 7 series forum has given me for free.
Also the car had eBay fake alpina boot and bonnet badges so I had brand new ones on the m3 which I took off before it went to the crusher
Added a couple of pens to the removable writing pad which fits into the back of the front seat
The near side doors never closed tight so had a little look and the latch wasn't on the marks. 1min later and both doors close nice and tight
And last I swapped the inner shrouds on the headlights from silver, which was a option to have to a normal set of black. Also didn't like the clear lights and one of the rears was half full of water so swapped them out for facelift ambers

When I got the car knew the seats needed a clean wasn't till I started to clean them I knew how bad they were. Tried a few products and nothing was working. Was told about Adam leather cleaner and brush and thought I'll give it a go. Have to say this has made the job so much easier. Rather than take hours it's only taken me 30 mins to clean all the back seats
I thought I'll have to reduce the whole drivers seat and now after cleaning I can get away with only
Dying a couple of areas
Here some 50/50 pics
Good pickup! Car looks great!
Nice looking car!

Nice car! You deserve a tiara for that find!
Great looking car!
Beautiful! ???? I really think the individuals look fantastic, especially the blue and oyster. The tables and headrests are great!
Holy crap, you found that for 800 pounds?! That's even better deal than my car!!!
1999 BMW 740il 137k
Lol I wish. I spent £800 driving all over the UK looking at e38s which were all rubbish

Beautiful car man... uugghhh, nappa leather. Love it.
Quick question - can you clarify exactly what you adjusted to correct your boot lid? Mine is EXACTLY the same on that same side, and there are a few nuts and such that you can adjust there but I'm not entirely sure which one is the ticket?
Can't believe how well your seats came up too. I recently skimped on a nappa leather grey interior E38 with crusty dirty seats at a local auction, but looking back I know I could have restored it much like you have yours and I'm kicking myself haha.
Stunning!
Mind sharing what you paid?
best of luck with it.
Kurt
I just noticed the bottom bolt was loose. So a quick tighten up sorted the problem. I too was shocked on how good it has come up. Really lifted the interior
O, and it's buffalo leather which was a 3k option
I won't say what I paid for it. Sorry
Did the seller force you to sign a non-disclosure agreement?
kidding. It's interesting to hear what the current market's like in the UK. How negotiations are done, etc. Guess the show "Wheeler Dealers" spoils us.
I certainly wouldn't judge you (publicly )
Whatever you paid, beautiful car.

Well the market is from 2k for a very high mile 750iL to around 18k for very low mileage 750iL
pretty much itch like that. Maybe not always get as much as off the price as Mike brewer gets
off topic my gf use to be neighbours with mike brewer
I'm certainly no expert on the E38 market, but browsing for the past month or so in the US they also range from <$2000 for near basket cases to upper teens for low mileage, looks like it just drove off the lot example.
I haven't seen any "individual" versions over here so curious how that affects the market value.
Yours has the features and finish to match any Bentley, Rolls, high end Merc or Jag IMO so I wouldn't be surprised to see that add significantly to the price.
I personally would have paid a couple thousand more that the $5350 I paid for my rather subdued '01 silver over grey 740i Sport for one with the interior and exterior color combo and bells and whistles yours has, but I still have a thing for titan silver and non-black interiors.
The blue carpets and trim, ivory leather with contrasting piping, picnic trays, bibs and bobs etc on yours are just amazing. Any lucky passengers will certainly be in for a treat!
Whoever originally specced that car has impeccable taste, in addition to boatloads of money!
Love Wheeler Dealers. I set my DVR to "record series" about a year ago an now have 60-something episodes saved for future viewing
I know they've done M3 and M5 but don't think they ever did an E38? Always makes me smile that Ed's time is never factored in to the "profit", but it's still a very entertaining and informative show for sure.
Both Mike and Ed seem like very cool guys.

Thanks. This combo is one of two of my favs, the other is mora with champagne and mora carpets
your right they not done a e38 on WD. I know he done a e30. E24. E31 E36. E39 and the bubble car
How good are individual interiors in two tone!
Very slick 750 my friend.
UPDATE
05/09/15
Couple more jobs ticked off the list
The rear 1/4 trim always breaks up and looks rough and a common problem on the e38. For new trims it's about £150, someone on a 7 series forum has found this product to replace it with and bought a massive roll of it. What ever left gets passed onto the next person who needs it. So I was kindly given enough to do both sides
Next on the list was the missing cover for the connector to jump start the car
Next job was to replace the driver side mirror. On mine they are auto dimming like the rear view mirrors. A new mirror from Bmw is £250. Fuck that so been on the look out for a good second hand mirror. Someone on FB was breaking his 750i so snapped up the whole mirror for £40
Hard to see in the pictures but the broken mirror was darker and like it was out of focus
And lastly this is the orignal Bmw sat nav discs
