How hairy was she? Oh wait not that kind of trans.

Progress is being made. I like it. I saw your post in my WTB thread for injectors. I bought a set like 10 min before you posted, would have loved to contribute some funds to this project but I got a little trigger happy.

    lol.
no worries on the injectors. They'll find a new home soon enough.
back to selling & saving til I can afford to have my heads built.

if my trans sells today (as it should), i'll be taking my heads to a local builder for port & polish and bigger valves.

that means it's time to talk about mounts/headers.
i'm considering solid mounting the engine. i can build solid mounts without much fuss. but i do plan on driving the car [hard af] every day.

does anyone have any experience with solid mounting an LS into an e36? or any relatable input?

bought a cam yesterday. had it spec'd by Cam Motion for my [sorta] high revving 5.3. should have it in a week.
and my friend picked up my trans today. it's gone from NJ to PA. should be here in a week or three.
sorry for lack of sweet updates. i can only make the money so fast and there are lots of parts to buy.

i was originally hoping for august/september of this year.
but the way it's going now, i'll be lucky to have it running this time next year. i can't bring myself to compromise. i know what i want. i try to tell myself i can get by with less. i realize that's a crap plan. then i have to wait and save for the bits i really want.

plus this cam is going to require upgraded lifters, headwork, and a fancy (FAST) intake setup. so for it to run right, i have to spend some decently serious money.

if TLDR, this time next year.

...and i bought a harness and PCM.
    i'm hemorrhaging cash.
but now i have something to do with my hands. the harness gets way stripped down for the swap.

i figured you'd read it all. but there are a few other readers out there that may not be so determined. plus i ramble.

my last big build was off the road for 2 years. i nearly fnkking died. i went thru 4 or 6 daily drivers trying to scratch the itch while i spent gobs of money and waited on machine work and parts. it was hell.
but man, that car was fast af.
this build will reach completion well ahead of that timeline. but i am already experiencing doubts. it's getting nicer up here and i want to be out in my car. it sucks already. by mid-summer, i'll be losing sleep.

    mounts and headers shipped today.
heads are still in a box waiting to go to the porter. but i couldn't pass up a great deal on mounts and headers.
i suppose i should take some pictures of all this crap at some point.

i have a supercharger install this weekend for a friend. after that, i don't have any side work planned for the rest of the year. hoping to actually make some progress on the M3. plus i'm losing my storage. so the car will have to come home. which is a good thing, really. i'll be more motivated to work on it if i see it every day.

well, things have been quiet on the gripmissile front as i've been working my a$$ off to make $$$ to buy parts for this heap.
some parts have come in and this thread made it to page 2 of my subscribed threads.
    so here's a small bump.

i have to get to work somehow.
also. i have about 12 razor scooters. the reasoning is absurd. i have no children and am way to old/fat to be razor-scooting anywhere.

in between checks impulse bought an LS6 intake manifold with injectors and rails.
too good of a deal to pass up.
it should be here by the 2nd or 3rd of June. (shipping from Kuwait)

planning on ordering either the oil pan or the bellhousing and slave cylinder next week. time will tell...

so since i'll have an intake, i have to decide how i want the engine to look.

    all black?

    fully gold foiled?

    or freedom?

a real small turbo. like so small, you'll never see or hear it. lol.
yeah, i'm thinking it'll be black unless i get it all together and i really feel like it needs something to liven it up.

my Kuwaiti LS6 intake manifold, rails, and injectors arrived today in fine shape.
ebay bargain level up attained. i paid less for all of it, shipped, than most bare LS6 intakes go for.

did some stuff in preparation for head & TB porting.

    got some head.

    got some TB.

and turned those nasty iron heads into power.

2.00" intake valves to replace the 1.89" valves in my 862 truck heads.
stripping the truck heads tomorrow and gonna set up my marks to start port work this weekend.
hoping to have the heads done by end of June. plenty of pics to follow as work progresses.
