Those all sound pretty awesome. Any you know of with a transverse mounted engine on an automatic transmission? That seems particularly offensive to many.

A flat 6 with ITBs and cams needed for good running at about 9K would undoubtedly be pretty sweet though...

What kind of power is the turbo'd VR6 making?

On his old motor, he was making ~350/350.
he just got the new (built) engine together and roadworthy. Idk how much power right now, but I think he's pushing for 500+.

That would be super sweet in a light weight older style 911!

However, having looked around at the price of 911 stuff today, AND this ratrod Pcar thread, I can honestly say it's all been done and it's all too expensive for me. And for those reasons, I'm out.

(although, I still didn't see the super offensive transverse automatic drivetrain concept.... But still, all way too expensive for my cheap ass.)

I sat beneath the cameras one day in the tank, next to some guy they called A-Rod or something, and I liked the rap I heard there. Those rich guys are funny.

You're crazier than me. Yep, I said it, and it's a BIG statement!

BTW, thank you for the random eye candy in your FS thread. SUPER GREAT choice, I must say.

    Your car looks great too.

If any of you are in the Indianapolis area and need your wheels repaired, do not go to Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists.
they did a 2/3 ass repair on my Advans and now that one of the wheels is cracked again, I was told that it's my fault as their repairs never re-crack.
didn't even want to look at it.
old-ass hooker I talked to on the phone was rude af to boot.

i didn't expect them to hook me up. But I did figure they'd at least talk to me like a f#cking person.

Could those Aerocatch latches have been installed rotated 90 degrees, if you had desired to do so (large radius closest to headlight and small radius closest to windshield)?

    Let's open a discussion.
I'm anxious to get the new project going but don't have the cash on hand to do so until the M3 sells.
i usually part cars out. I'm not terribly experienced selling whole cars.

what would you guys see changed on the M3 to make it more appealing?

it's getting the SSRs and freshly painted kidneys put in tomorrow or Saturday.
the diff will be the next project.
    then the sunroof plug.

would interior make it more appealing? I feel like no. But it's pretty clear I don't think like most folks.

throw an old dog a bone.

    TIA

Seems like it's just you and me here... So I will blabber about stuff until someone with some sense pipes up!

My two cents' worth consists of the following: Your M3 is a very niche vehicle. It's very possible that there is, or will be within the next months, a buyer out there who would love to pony up your asking price. But since your market is nichey, selling this car might very well require some significant patience. And I think that the more you max out your efforts to market the car in as many different ways as you can, the more you might be able to find that buyer sooner. Kind of like casting a bigger net.

So with that nonsense having been blabbered, where is the market of people who would be into your car? Is there a particular group to whom it would appeal most? I'm guessing you aren't super likely to find your buyer on this forum of people who love M3s. After all, most people are kind of purist-ey. But there is a place, somewhere... LS1tech maybe?

Was that even worth 2 cents?

My boss has suggested Bring a Trailer.
    craigslist is a nightmare
    eBay is almost as bad
    LS1Tech isn't a terrible idea

based on the e36/LS cars that have sold on here, I'm kinda thinking if I put the carpet back in and maybe the rear panels and seat, it may be easier to sell on bf.c.

it seems everyone wants spaceship performance but doesn't want to make any sacrifices. I guess that explains the popularity of the current generation of Camaro...that tips the scales at over 4000lbs.

That's a tricky question. Essentially you are trying to find someone to give you close to 13k for a car that from their perspective might stop working as soon as they get it home.

I don't think that the person that will buy your car is overly concerned with the back seat being installed. I don't think having the interior in a more finished state would hurt but it may not really help. Tptrsn is right that you probably will not find a buyer here because of the mildly religious oem worship. Hella oem+ bro! You might look at the grassroots motorsports forum or something else like that. You don't really want a manufacturer specific audience, "chevy guys" don't want your BMW and "BMW guys" don't want your chevy, you want more of a "lets build crazy shit and drive it fast" audience.

13k will be fine, you have well documented proof of the car with this build thread, it's got power to appeal to those looking for it and it's got the wide stance/look to appeal for the rest. It is a niche vehicle, but so is a sub 100k mile e36 which is effectively in that price range. It will sell, just need to reach a wide market so Definitely try LS1 tech, Craigslist, and toss it up on eBay for the max amount of days whether or not it will sell.. people will see it and send it around. That's how you sell a car.

FYI for Craigslist I drive people around in the cars I'm selling until they show me some cash and start talking numbers. If they ask, it's basically an insurance liability for them to drive something they've never driven before, especially without me having some sort of reassurance and if they don't like it they can leave, because you must not be interested in the car that much.
