that cold on saturday turned into full blown ebola before Monday.
i was back at work on wednesday because we midwesterners don't miss work unless it's absolutely necessary.
feeling mostly better today. just coughing up the last of the junk in my lungs from the retreating plague.
job2 tonight and tomorrow and my yard hasn't been mowed in two weeks. so i may get some work done on the m3 sunday. if not sunday, it'll be next week. i have to swap the coilovers on my 328 for a new set as mine are junk and being warrantied. then, both cars need oil changes and the m3 needs more revisions to optimize its setup.
that's all for now.

Opinion poll.
Leave the felony form overs and add aero and more tire?
or
Switch to the pandem wide body, change wheels, and add more tire?

Since it's YOUR money (not mine), I say more fender more tire!
I think the Pandem kit just looks a lot more finished.
granted, it'll cost an arm and a leg. And it'll require actual body work to make it all look correct. But the m3 needs some actual paint and body work to bring it up to snuff. I've neglected the body a bunch because it was in bad shape when I got it. A new kit would inspire me to actually give a hoot about how it looks.
plus I'd go back to 17s. Cheaper tires aren't a bad thing.

I'd keep felony form and add more tire. If you want a 'show-ey' car then Pandem will get you that attention, since it's a rocketbunny spin-off and that's all the rage on the scene points.

Don't care, as long as you're not running -5+ degree stancebro camber in back like in that pic.

I think the Pandem kit is the ugliest, tackiest, universal looking designed kit ever offered. It looks like its made to fit 500 different type of cars, albeit poorly on every single one.
Felony form kit looks great, and leaves you enough tire to stick, without making your car turn in like a boat.
Like you said, the car needs some clean up. I think you will love the looks of the FF kit with some fresh paint and wheels. The kit looks a little wavy in this photo, but anything not OEM is going to need some work to make it OCD perfect.

Now that car looks clean and nice. Do that. Yours is even the same color. Don't necessarily need to slam it quite as low, but it doesn't look bad regardless.

Thank you, sir.
i'm running 215/35/18s up front and 245/35/18 out back now. in a perfect world, i'd like to run 245/35/18 up front and 265/35/18 out back. that's not gonna happen without raising the car and doing some offset magic.
i don't much care about scene points. i'm on bf.c and IG and that's it. i typically only go to one show a year, and very infrequently wash my car. now, if i paint it and fix the bodywork....i'll keep it clean and care for the exterior. but i'm still not gonna be on the show circuit. i've built all of my cars for me, and this one is no exception. i'm going to try to add more rubber on my current kit because the Pandem kit will cost me a fortune and i still have a few more bits to buy to finalize this current iteration. (differential, sunroof plug, new harnesses)
but thanks for the input.
i run -3.75*F and -2.5-2.75*R camber. ~1/16" total toe out up front and zero toe in the rear.
i don't believe in changing my alignment to make my wheels fit. i'll take an angle grinder to the body (again) before i add useless camber to make my wheels/tires fit.
i get heat all the way across the tires with my current setup. if adding tire allows me to reduce camber, i'll do that. if i still use the whole tire, then my alignment won't change.
thanks for the input. but i don't agree with you on the "universal fitment" looks of the Pandem kit. it's a blister kit for sure. but i really like it. the RB/Saarto version 1 kit for e36 looks much more universal and much less appealing.
the FF kit is wavy. it (like all FRP/FG kits) requires significant work to give an OE fit & finish. the FF kit adds ~40-45mm of width and re-radius-es the whole arch shape. so it does enable more tire. but it's not as much as you'd expect.
with my rubber bands up front, my car turns quite crisply and (on the sliding scale of looks/performance) i'm stoked with how it drives. admittedly, i want more tire so i get more performance. but i'm not prepared to sacrifice looks as i drive the car daily and track/beat/race/whatever it very infrequently. i'm not super sold on a kit like the PTG or Flossman or MaShaw kits for something i take to the grocery store and work. if it were track-only, that's exactly what i'd do. but it's primarily a street car. so compromise is the order of the day.
the car needs paint. but the wheels were just refinished this winter. only reason i'd change them is if i change to 17s.
thank you to everyone that chimed in.
as of right now, i'm going to buy a new diff and the sunroof plug first, then try out some 225/35/18 fronts to see how i like them. i also need to vent the hood and build a front splitter. so we'll see what i can do for some dynamic front grip in lieu of a massive upgrade in mechanical grip.
worst that happens is i ball it up and have to redirect, right? lol

Is there anything that can be done to the lower rear fender/bumper aft of the rear wheel? Your rear wheels are so fat and kicked out (awesome btw) that you can see almost the entire tire sticking out from in front of the stock rear end lines. Are there wide body kits that take care of the stock bumper which now looks tiny, or at least fatten up the corners of it to fit with the wider contour which is in front of the rear wheel?

Nice build! One of my Son's has an LS1 w/T56 trans in the garage he plans on putting in his 318is some day. My M3 was everything to me years ago, but its been my DD for so long it now has 246K miles, so my Z06 is my sunny fun car. It even weighs less then the M3 with the same 50/50 balance and a lot more HP!....both are fun though!
