red oil light and battery light

Ok so I had just finished putting in a water pump and thermostat in my 99 328i. I had test drove it for like 10 minutes to get all the air out of the system and to see if it still overheats with it hasn't so far. I was driving it and the red oil light and the battery light both came on at the same time. I shut the car off immediately. I waited about a minute then started the car back up drove it about 5 minutes down the road and the lights never came back on. I have driven the car a few times here and there and the light has never once came on either of them. I have oil in it and my belt is on and the alternator is not bad (did a system test on it). NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks

I would have the oil system pressure tested to ensure your oil pump is working properly before you do much more driving.

My pump is working because if it wasn't then I wouldn't have made it home but its weird because my battery and oil light came on at the same exact time not one then the other

sounds like probably an electrical issue then.

The oil pressure light only comes on when the oil pressure is basically non-existant. You could still have a low oil pressure situation and never see the light. If it were me id do it just for the piece of mind.
