Help! Blinkers and FTPs flashing while parked

Would appreciate the help! At a cottage with some friends and after a torrential downpour the flashers are on and the FTPs are also flashing. There is loud clicking from the relay under the hood. I've removed the two relays as the one for the flashers is really hot. Why is this happening? I tried disconnecting the batteries with no resolve. Currently have both relays out as to not drain the batteries.
    Any thoughts??

Unfortunately the cause is probably water getting on to the three electronics modules under the dash.

Make sure that is the problem first - remove the kick panel above the pedals and you can just can get a hand on the modules to check for dampness. I'm in the UK so access to the modules is different for us - hopefully the method is detailed in the archives - I'll have a look......

Thank you, will replace the relay first and go from there. What a stupid feature.

Well, in case of a crash the crash control module helps, among other things for example it unlocks the doors.

When this was happening on my car it was due to the alarm going off and my alarm siren being dead (battery powered). I replaced everything but pulled the main alarm connection fuse under the door sill on the passenger side. Car locks and all, but just no siren. Alarm is no longer going off randomly and draining the battery.

The tilt/tow sensor in left trunk area near rear light set will also trigger alarms and ftp randomly. Mine went off at random times at first when warm but later even when cold. Removed sensor, simply unplugged. Search archives for more info and pictures.
