If a 850csi is worth this, (granted lower Milage) wouldn't an Alpina be worth similar or more ?
Or are the being unrealistic in their asking price ?

Just look at alpina prices 5.0 and 5.7 and do not compare alpina with CSI's..... and yes in general a CSI is worth more then an alpina 5.0 and the alpina 5.7 more than a csi.
It's the old manual versus auto version value thing.

It may be true but the rarity of the 5.0 makes it more valuable than a CSi in my opinion. A lot less number of cars made.

maybe, but so far CSI's are more expensive (5.0 I have seen for sale 60-80K and could buy.... same milage CSI's..... more) but I agree, 5.0 has lower production numbers and it might get more expensive over time (would not surpise me btw). If I had one.... I would keep it.

Looking at classic sportscars in general......in the end the manual versions are the collectible ones.....(just look at 850 manual and auto prices... same happening)
