In case of my M70 V12 the problem was solved by replacing the crankcase breather valves. Here explained http://bmwe32.masscom.net/sean750/vc.../VCVvalves.htm

The v12 is a completely different animal. It doesn't suffer the same fate of leaking valve stem seals.

    2006 750Li

2006 750LI smokes after 5 minute idle. Couple questions. Please help

2006 750Li 80k miles. first post. Been reading all posts I could find on topic.Smokes heavily after extended idle. Does not smoke while driving. Very little oil consumption since I never let it idle.ccv's , OSV, cyclone, Valve guides seals ? How do you tell?CCVs look intact, I removed the hose from the CCV's, plugged the intake and ran it. Smoke from passenger side only at CCV. After 5 minute idle = heavy smoke from tailpipe.Drive it 1/4 mile and smoke is gone. Doesn't misfireNo CELRuns perfect. Runs strong. Is there a way to positively diagnose this or is it best guess?I don't want to but will have no issue replacing VGS"s. Went to UTI and ASE cert tech most of my life. Not very familiar with troubleshooting this one. Please help. MikeThanks for you're time and advice.Mike LintzDavenport Fire Dept

Check pcv valves on valve covers then change your oil to 10w60.
