    M60 Hydraulic Valve Lifter Replacement

I have a Bentley but was interested to know if anyone posted pics or how-to's on replacing the Hydraulic Lifters. The searched didn't turn up anything, however. My first strategy is to drop the oil pan to be sure the ticking isn't the oil pump bolts (I've had NO low oil indications). Since I have to do the VCG, it's not much further to remove the timing chain (zip tied to the gear wheel), pop the cam and then use a strong magnet to withdraw the lifters. I'm sure there are techniques to keep the valve timing right on and torque setting for the cam bearing, etc.

    Thanks in advance,
    Ken

I'm reviving an old thread here; I've got the same question. I've got an M60 with 360k kms and the heads have never been off. But I would like to clean the lifters to take away the ticking noise. Has anyone pulled out the lifters in a minimally-invasive way?
