    Ann Arbor/SE Michigan Indy mechanic

New(ish) member looking for a solid indy mechanic to work on my SO's off-warranty E90 (2010 328x coupe) and my soon-to-be off-warranty E90 (2011 328 x sedan). Have heard (and seen) plenty about the dealers and prefer a strong, independent mechanic. I've spent some time on this and other forums with some indy shops recommended but no indy mechanics. Thanks, in advance.

You should probably place this message on your regional forum, and also consider contacting your local BMWCCA chapter, where you will certainly find excellent experience with shops and techs in your area. Consider joining BMWCCA as well, best bargain for your BMW future!

Arbor Motion/Rennstat racing (same building) are the only ones allowed to touch my car. Good, honest, good warranty on their work.
If they call it Tourist Season, why cant we shoot them?

Are they under the same ownership that had Swedish engineering back in mid-2000s?
I had terrible experience with them back in 2005, and it has kept me from trying Arbor Motion.

not sure who owns them now, I think they just had a change of ownership. I do most of my own work, but when I do need a pro, they're the only ones Ive used. The dealer knows way less than I do, and I can read the manual just as well as they can.

I take both my cars to Arbor Motion and it's an hour drive for me. New ownership since last summer.

I recommend Orion Automotive (http://oriona2.com/) in ann arbor- they are a bMW specialist.
Also- recently I had the dreaded 4x4-Breaklight-ABS issue (transfer case actuator gear) and didn't want to pay $1600 to fix it. I got a guy from craigslist to do it for me for a 100 bucks. His name is Tim Labadie, seems very handy, got a van full of tools and will come to your house to do the job. His email is tim.mobilemechanic@gmail.com
