Yea, straighten it out, cut off in front of the strut tower, tube everything. Only works if the metal can be put back into place. Even then, I'd reinforce the poo out of it.

yeah. I am trying to figure out how while still following the rulebook, unfortunately I don't really think that is possible.
FD says you can cut off anything in front of the suspension mounting points.

Haha I wrenched on this car with the owner. Years ago.

I was referring more to 2.2.1
"plating of the chassis is prohibited"
"No additional bracing between the strut towers and firewall is permitted"
which means that welding in something like this would be illegal
or even something like this
idk, I'm just paranoid about the weakness of that tower now that its been compromised
- - - Updated - - -
But then again, if I had done something like that to begin with it likely would have damaged the firewall and killed the chassis, so idk
Yea... tough choice. If you're going to compete, a new chassis makes sense.

I mean if it's a ProAM car I would check with the guys who run and tech at your events.
Mike's turbo car has the front towers tied into the cage and I believe they allow him to compete in Lonestar Proam IIRC.
Personally something I want to do with mine but those FD rules are killer. Though you can't strengthen the subframe and I've done that to the front/imagine Chelsea did the same when he ran a BMW.
//// Side idea is to build your new chassis AND fix this one, take the donor motor/trans into this one? Make it the fun car?

Well, I have a spare chassis (not the vert) sitting in my garage. The plan was to start prepping that one, meaning part it out, stitch weld the whole thing, cage it, etc and get it to a point where all my parts could be swapped over to it quickly, but this wreck happened way before I was even able to start on that one, and I don't really want to rush through that stuff.
I have no plans of competing in anything above Pro-Am, but the Southwest Drift guys seem to be sticklers so I am not sure what would fly with them and what wouldn't. Someone also told me there is an exemption for e46 rear subframes that they allow reinforcements on them.
If that's your body of choice, then I'd contact them and ask what to do.

Why don't people like to upload the pictures to BF.c? Maybe it's because viewers have to click on them to see them in large size, but man, it's easy uploading that way, and they always work.

Use

Lasts forever, it seems.
Uploading them to the forum only takes one step. I'm confused. Even Flickr will require uploading pics there and then copying URLs over to the forum, right? It is nice that they are viewable in full size without clicking though.

I post on multiple forums, so uploading to every one of them is a pita. Most of the time, I just do my own private hosting for images. But I got lazy.

And if you upload to bf.c they are not viewable unless you're registered. Can't see them as a guest.

What BimmerOK said. Also, I take all the pics with my phone, upload them to photobucket using their app, then I could just go to their site once I got home and drag the links to multiple forums or wherever. I'm not even sure how I would upload them to BF.c other than emailing them to myself, then saving them on my computer when I got home then uploading them individually to the forum
That's how I do it too, because lazy. Works so easy till now
OK, lets try this again. Frame after pulling
the bad news is this frame rail tear
removed some metal in prep for the tube front
