Yep, I used a Classico Sauce jar. Took all of 10 minutes. The doors....another story. Im considering Monsoons for the 750 in the rear deck. As the 750 is staying stock, I dont want to cut into those speaker boxes, so Ill have to find 4 that fit the doors without mods.

Would someone be able to share a picture of the sponge material that needs to be removed? Haven't taken the speaker box apart yet so I don't know what's being referred to.

So I received my monsoon speakers; however, I realized that they did not come with the wiring harness.

Does anybody know the part #? I'm having trouble finding online. OR would I be able to solder wires directly to the male harness side?

    Thanks,
    John

I just soldered directly to the male terminals, so that is possible too.

The terminals for the connector or did you solder the male pin harness off and direct connect. Like this pic

Thanks. The issue is that these didn't come with the factory wires so I will solder directly to the terminals

Honestly I'm not sure exactly what I soldered to now, it was 18 months ago. I just know it was done without any extra connectors for future disconnecting.

I wired everything up and it tested perfectly! Didn't put the caulk on yet because I wanted to make sure everything was working before buttoning it to. Excited to get in the car!

One more question - do you really need screws if you're caulking and then hot gluing? What's the point? These lay flat anyways

Not necessarily, as long as there is a complete seal around the edges of the speakers with the caulking/glue. You don't want air leaks.

I don’t see any polarity on my monsoons I ordered. Do they have polarity? If not, as long as you wire them all the same will that be ok? I don’t have the vw pigtails, bought the speakers new on eBay
