Hi everyone,
I have a few questions regarding the swap.
I want to swap M52B25 from E39 (single VANOS) to E36 compact with M43B19 engine currently in it.
I still haven't bought the M52 because a friend told me you need to change multiple things on the engine to fit (alternator, engine mounts, engine loom from E36....). The swap should be perfect since I will be taking the car to the MOT certificate (Croatia; also called atest), the OBDII and everything should be in working order.
Does anyone have a list of everything I should know/consider before doing the swap or even buying the engine?
Thanks in advance!
E39 oil pan is different(front sump) than E36. All bracketry, wiring loom and engine management computer, coolant hoses, intake pluming and air box, exhaust manifolds, cats, pipes, trans, shifter and driveshaft and probably lots more.
If you can leave two black stripes from the exit of one corner to the braking zone of the next, you have enough horsepower. - Mark Donohue
