Excellent work! I've been following this thread for a while and you've really fixed this car up nicely The engine swap wiring would terrify me, but you nailed it like a champ. Any plans on updating to the facelift headlights and/or facelift/sport bumpers? I was wondering why you didn't grab the headlights out of that 2002 530i.

You can order an aftermarket M5 bumper from DDM tuning, ECS tuning, Umnitza, and many more. From what I've heard, the DDM ones have the best fit. However the aftermarket bumpers never have the perfect fit of an OEM M5 bumper. Since you're fairly handy, I'd say maybe try and score a used M5 bumper, maybe with some minor damage, and fix it up.

I think you can have plenty of room if you remove the DISA valve then you can reach to the starter and replace it.
Yes, it looks awesome.

I figured out the pedal problem! When I swapped the pedal I got lazy and cut the wires out of the harness and re-soldered them. My solder was causing too high of a resistance and screwing with the computer and pedal. I got the proper uncut wire and the gas pedal is perfect now!
WOW I haven't posted in forever! Here we go!
I had a electrical fire, the white plastic shroud crumpled and the positive stud was arcing against the negative body. Had to replace the cable end/ stud and surrounding plastic.
The damage.
Hmmmm. Ideas ideas
Angel Eyes!
I finally figured out how to wire in my reverse lights!! Pin 4 to the back of the cluster!
The only code I now get is P0455 Evap Leak Detected
I'm going to try a 530i charcoal canister and DMTL pump.
Oh and pull the intake manifold to see if the purge valve hose came off the manifold..
Clean
All back together, let's give this a shot!
I reprogrammed my DSC module as a manual light goes out but comes back on for steering angle sensor fault.
Mounted my M5 style bumper
And my replica wing because downforce
I used betalink and it holds very well
Winter Mode
This caught my eye and I fixed it too. I dont have any photos of it now though!
That's all for now!

Lookin great! You really should do a concise write up of the swap once you're done.

Man, you are killing it with this car! The facelift lights and the M5 bumper really made this car look a few years newer. All you need to complete the look are facelift kidney grilles.

I made a thing
I went skiing and was driving on route 180 in the Williamsport PA area. I was parallel with a lady taking a blind corner (in the left-lane like a dickhead) and all the sudden i see a dead deer laying in the middle of my lane. Had I swerved right, I would have hit her and if I swerved left I would have totaled my car in a ditch. Had no choice but to hit the deer dead on. I ripped off my underpanels and bent my exhaust and now the transmission sounds like marbles rolling around when acceleration. This is the only pic I could get. I have plans now though >
Whats surprising is there is NO bumper or body damage whatsoever. Consider myself lucky.

Chapter III, well you know me, I cant stop with these damn wagons, got this one for $600, pkus $140 tow. M5 Wheels, Xenon Lights, Black Interior which will all go into the white wagon come the summer.
Here we go:
Deleted my muffler got so bent from the deer that i figured I'm not going to repair it.
Children
The PO plastidipped the entire roof, that came off fast with brakeleen
I did the whole coolant system on it because it was overheating but the plastic heater pipes that run under the manifold had cracked as well. Had to replace them too!
Got it all back together, took the M5 wheels off to get painted and threw on my old style 5s
Time to take those Xenons!!!
Swapped
Had to get one of these from the deer accident
And clean this mess up
Also got one of these for $125
Thankfully a dual stage airbag!!
Changed my oil, going to try 10W-40, it seems to burn the 5W-30 I had in before
This was the worst damage from the deer. Replaced this quick
Pennsylvania road salt messed me up!
Tucked the blue wires from the lightbar
Time for detailing
My brother helped clean my blue wagon. Thanks Evan!!
Cleannnnn
Remember those M5 Wheels? Got them straightened and repaited for $400. Not shadowchrome but I like the gunmetal.
Made it out to school. Looked down and saw my fender liner like this
Oh well
Needs more low. 245/40/18 all around. I'm going with a spring/shock setup. Just need to determine what springs.
All packed up to come home from college. I love my wagon.
That is a 15 foot roll of suede, hmmmm ideas...
SUEDE!!!
The interior started to change color in the white car and the blue car! Jeez another swap!!
It started to rain and I had to take the glass out.
Old nasty ass grey headliner
I still haven't completely finished the interior, but I will soon and I promise I will get pics. The suspension hasn't settled in yet but I'll get photos to that too.
Maybe that was the loud front end noise...
Very nice
After dailying this car for over a year now, I've decided it needs a clutch. Now, I could put $500 down for a new clutch and keep the 5 speed. But that's not my style. Time for a 6 speed!
Getrag GS6-37BZ out of a 2006 330i Sedan.
Enjoy
Shift shaft seal
FACK I HIT THE BEARING. It should be ok though
I tried a light layer of dirko, we will see if this works
New shifter stuff
Got my front plate bracket fabbed up
Oh yea, and I sourced out front sport seats for $325
Much better
Suspension is settling in ok I guess
Gave it a nice wash
Back to 6 speed stuff. Time to make the jig for the 6 speed crossmember
Oh yea and I got the driveshaft I needed too
Back to this stuff
Hehehehehe this part cracks me up the most
Made a mess!
Got my shifter carrier and stuff
Putting in a new CSB and centering sleeve
We will see what the welder says I'm praying he doesn't think I'm crazy. I don't have a TIG welder so we will see what he says.
tasty cakes. wagon looks good.
is there not any factory crossmember that works for this? didn't follow your pix exactly since that makes it look like you're not changing the locations of the bolt holes at all but I get the theory and nice job on the jig & chop & meld stuff. interesting that the VF 6sp boxes have a removable rear mount I guess? all the trannies i've juggled have had cast-in tabs. certainly that makes stuff like brace-fabbing easier since you can take it off.
interesting how different the shift carrier is to the one in either of my cars.
rock on brother, good stuff.
