1998 BMW 540i with 6.6 Liter Supercharged LS2 T56 Transmission for Sale - $25,000
Here it is folks the original car without a soul my 1998 BMW 540i with a 6.6 liter supercharged LS2 and a T56 transmission.
Is it a daily driver? YES
Is it fun? YES
Is it fast? YES
I finished this car (to the extent they are ever finished) 5 years ago and it has been my daily driver most of the time since. It is fully sorted and has had too many things done to list them all here so I will touch on the highlights.
It has about 80k miles on the swap and it is a very mild build it is not intended to be the fastest car in the World, but a very fun and capable car that can be driven anywhere, anytime. By design, the car draws absolutely no attention and is very quiet. The body and interior are a 7.5/10 it looks like a very typical e39, it is not a show car in that sense if you want a 100 point exterior and interior this isnt the car for you. It has won the Best Engineered Award at LS1 Fest if you are into that sort of thing. IT does have a heated steering wheel and AC
Please bear in mind that this is a very heavily modified vehicle; it is not a production car. Although I have taken great pains to make it behave like a production vehicle, you can expect things to break and when they do be prepared to fix them yourself. If you roll into a BMW or Chevy dealer with this thing they will run like an angry 3 year old. Your trusty indy will likely do the same. That said, parts are readily available for just about everything (except for some of those pesky BMW parts ) and someone mechanically inclined should be able to handle keeping it in shape. It is being sold AS IS.
Here are some details:
Engine
LS2 block with eagle forged internals 403 cubic inches
GM 317 heads with 72 cc combustion chambers, 10.03 compression ratio
LS9 camshaft, hardened pushrods
LS7 lifters
Hooker cast iron headers, dual 2.5 mid pipes through Magnaflow cats to a single 3 pipe out to a new BMW replacement 540i muffler (I just installed the muffler today, I had a DynoMax VT actually 3 of them enough said).
Supercharger
Magnacharger GTO kit, TVS2300, 60 lb injectors, return style fuel rail, overdrive rear pullies, heavy duty tensioner. I run it with a 3.4 pulley at around 12 psi of boost at 17 degrees timing, it can be spun a lot faster if you feel the need.
Transmission
T56 with a Viper main shaft built about 10k miles ago, good for 750 whp, LS7 clutch
BMW stuff
3.15:1 e39 M5 differential rebuilt with new clutches and bearings about 10k miles ago
Suspension, completely stock and all new about 25k miles ago
Everything BMW that is still there works and anything that has a problem has been replaced.
Comes with the incredible rare wheels pictured 17x8, 17x9 (the rear wheels are euro spec wheels that are virtually impossible to find, believe me I have tried to find another set) with Sumitimo summer tires 245/45-17 front 275/40-17 rear. I have 2 other sets of wheels, square all seasons 245-45-17 and snow tires 225/55-16 which are not included but will also be available for sale
Swap stuff
I built the mounts, did the electronics and everything else associated with the swap.
Why am I selling? Great question. I have kept this a lot longer than any of the other projects I have completed and it might be time to start another project.
If it doesnt sell I will probably keep it, maybe re work it in some way or possibly part it out.

Dyno this is with no tricks of any kind, pump gas on a hot day with it set up exactly as it is driven, if you want to chase numbers there are a lot more to be had:
Here is a great video of it going down a very slippery drag strip with a Dinan S2 as the camera car:

The price is $25,000. I am not interested in trades (except for a trade of my car for $25,000) or in parting it out at this time. If you are interested please PM or e-mail me.

Sweet, hellcat territory looking like a plain, nice, daily driver!
That has to be one of the most boring looking E39s.
I love it
best of luck with the sale, seller is a great guy and the car is seriously quick.
E60 next?!
